This creates an effective, entertaining, and continually adaptable training system to target fitness and promote fun. HOPSports is now appearing nationwide from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles, California, from Chicago, Illinois to Raleigh, North Carolina. Communities are rushing to rescue their youth from lethargy, type II diabetes, obesity and a host of health issues that are threatening to make this generation the first to have a shorter life expectancy than their parents. Communities are all seeking HOPSports as the mechanism to facilitate the cure! The CharitaBulls Foundation of the Chicago Bulls along with NBA icon Scottie Pippen, the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation and Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation with the baseball Hall of Fame infielder Cal Ripken, Jr. are among the powerhouses who have aligned with HOPSports. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) can happen to anyone at any time —without warning and school-aged children are not immune. An estimated

5,000 - 7,000 children in the U.S. die from SCA each year1, some of them on school grounds. Philips has teamed up with HOPSports providing a portable Philips defibrillator as part of the HOPSports Training System. In addition, Philips helps make it simple for teachers and students to learn the importance of detecting SCA and how to use the defibrillator as part of their lesson plans delivered through HOPSports. www.philips.com/heartstart HOPSports mat, physio-ball, HOPStick, jump rope and stretch bands. ⇒ Custom Mat Consists of nine (9) 2’ x 2’ interlocking high-density foam tiles, creating a 6’ x 6’ individual mat when assembled. It’s in the news everyday….

HOPSports teams up with professional sports teams and athletes, Olympic athletes, Hollywood celebrities and musicians to make a difference by adopting schools and youth

community sites across the country through

“P”artners in “E”ducation

The timing is perfect for HOPSports and Corporate America to join forces! The third national assess-ment by the University of Baltimore’s Obesity Initiative reveals that quantifiable efforts are underway in various state legislatures to actively address the costly and deadly consequences of childhood obesity. States and cities are beginning to take positive steps to combat the nation's obesity epidemic, especially as it affects children. HOPSports represents an opportunity for Corporate America to address the fitness and skills of its future work force.

A snapshot of our country illustrates the dire need for change in the way we address health and physical education!

HOPSports and Philips have teamed up to provide a portable Philips defibrillator as part of the HTS. In addition, Philips helps make it simple for teachers

and students to learn the importance of detecting SCA and how to use the defibrillator as part of their lesson plans delivered through HOPSports. www.philips.com/heartstart “EnergizaBulls” Fitness Program

“Developing a healthy lifestyle at a young age is important since change becomes more difficult with age. Behaviors involving physical activity and nutrition are the cornerstone of preventing obesity in children and young adults and we want to begin creating this foundation.” Dave Kurland, Senior Director of Community Relations HOPSports and the Chicago Bulls teamed up in the summer of 2006 in conjunction with the James Jordan Boys and Girls Club to pilot HOPSports with 187 children participating over a five-week period. With baseline physiological testing that proved to successful, the CharitaBulls (the nonprofit foundation for the

Bulls) have expanded the program into five additional locations with the Chicago Public School System and Boys and Girls Clubs, featuring custom content with legendary NBA star Scottie Pippen to expand the “EnergizaBulls” Fitness Program. www.nba.com/bulls/community/charitabulls.html

HOPSports PRICING—Basic and Gold Package

The HOPSports Training System - Basic or Gold - is preloaded with a minimum of 50 lessons, more than enough to service an educational environment for two years! HOPSports sustainability is incredible. For example, the Dell warranty on the CPU is four years, and the life on the projector is 5,000 hours. The maintenance cost, other than occasional bulb replacement for the projector, is, minimal. Using the minimum lifeline of two years, the purchasing institution is incurring a modest per-day-per-child cost for physical activity, nutrition and social messaging that will be a lifetime of education for each student. In a school of 500 students using a 180 day school year, the per-student cost is less than ten cents per day per year. As the student population increases and as the years of use increase beyond two years, the actual per student cost becomes pennies per day. Current purchasers of the HTS, Basic or Gold, will continue to receive content as it is developed. Many of the current purchasers will have in excess of 70 lessons to choose from by the end of the 2007-2008 school year. This will expand the usable years of life of the HTS so that the ten cent/day/student price now becomes pennies per student. The bottom line...HOPSports is a robust, comprehensive, energetic, educational and entertaining program that engages every student in the classroom, at such a minimal cost, it is perhaps unpar-alleled in the physical education - or educational - community!
