RECENT SOCIAL MISSION ACHIEVEMENTS BY:ABOUT AARPAARP AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan social welfare organization with a membership of nearly 38 million that leads positive social change and delivers value to all people 50-plus and to society through advocacy, service and information.

AARP FOUNDATION AARP Foundation, an affiliated charity, works to ensure that low-income vulnerable older Americans have nutritious food, affordable housing, a steady income, and strong and sustaining bonds. Supported by vigorous legal advocacy, AARP Foundation creates and advances effective solutions that help struggling older adults transform their lives.

AARP SERVICES, INC.This wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP manages provider relationships for, and performs quality control oversight of, the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP members and others.

LEGAL COUNSEL FOR THE ELDERLY LCE is a nonprofit charitable affiliate of AARP that champions the dignity and rights of seniors in Washington, D.C. through free legal and social work services.

LIFE REIMAGINED Life Reimagined is a digital and live service that provides tools and support to help people reflect, evaluate their priorities and define next steps in work, relationships and well-being. Enhancing the quality of life for

all as we age—not just serving our nearly 38 million members—is our mission. The work that AARP and its affiliates do can be summed up in just 12 words:

After all, when individuals reach their full potential, society can reach its full potential.

ChAMpIoN FOR thE VuLnERABLEFor more than 40 years, AARP’s Legal Counsel for the Elderly has championed the dignity and rights of Washington, D.C.’s elderly by providing free legal services to those in need. For example, Mabel Hensen, age 103, and her 98-year-old sister faced a 400 percent rent

increase and eviction for nonpayment of rent. LCE persuaded the landlord to make significant repairs, suspend the rent hike and dismiss the eviction notice.

LCE also champions consumer rights as the District of

Columbia’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman.
