Job Responsibilities / SKILLS Planning and Coordination

Prepare scope of work for design, material, installation and maintenance of Solar & Transformer Rectifier based Cathodic protection system of well casings, flow lines and Crude Oil storage tanks of oil and gas fields as per NACE and API standards.

To arrange service fluid investigations in order to estimate the internal corrosion of pipeline, storage tanks and vessels.

To get services of External Corrosion Direct Assessment as per NACE standard SP – 0502 for buried pipelines to ensure the coating integrity and mitigate the corrosion effects.

To arrange services for cathodic protection systems, chemical injection both surface and downhole, construction of storage tanks, Mechanical integrity of the assets by various NDT methods etc.

To coordinate with project department during different phases of the project regarding corrosion related services.

The derived data including Corrosion rates, Maximum wall loss, Variation in wall thickness, Calculations for remaining life and maximum allowable working pressure as per API-570.

To carry out special corrosion studies as per API-570, B 31.8, B 31.3, B31G, NACE standards etc for estimation of corrosion rates, remaining life, maximum allowable working pressure, minimum required thickness, remaining strength of corroded pipes, selection of repair procedures.

To get update data regarding newly discovered wells To analyze the data in the light of damage mechanism and corrosion

rate estimation as per API and NACE standards and to suggest input.

Corrosion data management

To update the failure history of the pipelines leakages and to carry out analysis to investigate the possible root cause of the failure.

Compile Corrosion Monitoring Reports from raw data that comprise of Coupons, ER Probes, Hardness Testing, Wall Thickness, Ultrasonic Flaw Detection, permanent type ultrasonic transducers at flow lines etc for each well head assemblies, flowlines, storage tanks.

Coordination with maintenance and operation personnel regarding findings / observations of corrosion related activities for improvement in corrosion control program.

Monitoring / Inspection Findings Review

Prepare inspection & monitoring plans. Identifying frequency, scope, methods and locations having high risk of CO2 and H2S.

To continuously monitor the effectiveness of the corrosion inhibitor and De-emulsifier in use and evaluate dosage rates for corrosion control of flow lines and plant piping and control of emulsion formation in crude oil along with comparison with competitive industry practices.

To install sampling facilities as per NACE RP-0192 and determination of Iron counts, Manganese counts and chlorides for monitoring of corrosion rates.

To take Monthly ER Probes readings to assess the internal corrosion of pipeline.

To gather Pipe to Soil data of pipeline, Well casings and Crude storage tanks to estimate the outer degradation of the buried pipeline/Well casings.

Gas treatment plant and Well head assemblies’ condition assessment through Non Destructive Testing.

To prepare inspection schedules as per annual turn around/ shutdowns. Monitoring of coating conditions of buried pipelines through Direct

Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) Methods, Pearson survey and C Scan survey.

Review of the corrosion mitigation & monitoring programs in the light of above mentioned findings to identify the required modifications or procedural changes.

Generating Annual / Six Monthly Programs

To generate and implement retrieval programmers of Corrosion Coupons preferably 90 days interval and E.R. Probes surveys (When required).

Ultrasonic Wall Thickness and hardness surveys.Maintenance To make maintenance programs of the Cathodic protection system

of solar system (for Hazardous areas) based Well casings and flow lines for various Oil and Gas Development Company Limited fields.

Maintenance of Transformer rectifier/solar system based CP system of both plant buried piping, flow lines & Crude Storage Tanks.

Maintaining the good coating conditions of buried pipelines.Risk base Inspection (RBI)

Reviewing and updating pipework RBI as per API 580 as necessary. Preparing RBI documents identifying failure threats and

mitigation/assurance activity necessary to manage those threats. The analysis of anomalies and recommendations with regard suitability

for continued service.

Management of Specialist services

To recommend & manage the services of the specialist where necessary, like failure investigation, third party, CP system maintenance and audit, microbiological surveys, corrosion inhibitor and scale inhibitor dosage etc.

Performance Monitoring of Corrosion Rates.

Derived data base i.e. corrosion rates in order to evaluate the performance of injected corrosion inhibitor, status of probes and coupons.

To carry out thickness survey of well head assemblies and plant

pipelines followed by calculations as per API-570 for MAWP, Remaining life and next inspection interval.

Liaising with chemical treatment contractor as necessary to obtain information.

Supervision of NDT (FFS) on Flow Lines, Well Head Assemblies, Crude Oil Storage Tanks, Separation Batteries, Dehydration Plants
