Blanchard died March 18, 2012, at home in Washougal. She was 80. She was born April 30, 1931, in Grand Junction, Colo. She attended Washougal schools and worked for 15 years for Crown Zellerbach in the bag factory. Lois volunteered at the Community Church of God every Saturday feed- ing the hungry. She loved kids and gardening, and en- joyed traveling the West Coast with her husband. She was preceded in death Lois L. Blanchard Mary (Gupton) Cain, of Vancou- ver, died March 19, 2012. She was 81. Mary was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Santa Cruz, Calif., to James Curtis and Mary Gupton Siler, the eldest of two children. She was an education major at San Jose State University, where she met Bill on a blind date. They had four children. Mary was a loving wife and mother, whose vast photo collection attests to that fact. Mary was active in local churches, clubs and community organizations. Mary and Bill loved to travel and visited locations all over the world golfing, eating and taking pictures. De- spite dealing with an illness for several years, and the loss of her husband, Mary continued to stay strong and continued to travel including taking trips to Panama, the eastern U.S. and even spent last month in Hawaii. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by four children, Mary Elizabeth and Rand Dickson of Medford, Ore., Sally Ann and Don Houck of Vancouver, William James Jr. and Jill Lynch Cain of Petaluma, Calif., and Thomas Charles of Elkins, W.Va.; brother, James C. Siler of Redding, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William James Cain. He was born April 27, 1927, in Allentown, Penn., to Charles and Lucinda (Chandler) Gilgore. Dur- ing World War II in South Seas and the Korean War, Stewart served as the oil king on many vessels for the United States Navy. After serv- ing his country, Stewart became a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1715 for 55 years as a finish carpenter. He left his mark as a superinten- dent for many commercial projects in Washington and Oregon. His most challenging endeavor was working on the Ballistic Missile Early Warning Radar System Project in Thule, Greenland. Always the quintessential workaholic, Stewart also enjoyed being an avid cribbage player and a gentleman rancher. He was a very active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and could always be counted on when needed. Stewart is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Bena; children, Stewart (Garnette) Gilgore, Chris (Lau- ra) Gilgore, Deborah Parham, and Anne Marie (Steve) Knebel; four brothers, three sisters, seven grandchil- dren and two great-grandchildren. Carol Ann Andrews Elizabeth A. “Liz” “Snow” Rin- gwelski of Camas died March 13, 2012, at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver. She was 61. Elizabeth was born Sept. 26, 1950, in Vancouver, and adopted to the late Sam and Louise Ringwel- ski. She was an avid reader, loved animals, nature and being with her friends and spending time with Charlie. She was a gypsy and lived life to its very fullest, exploring the country and travel- ing on freight trains was her absolute favorite thing to do – she was a train tramp at heart. She finally settled in Kasliof, Alaska, where she fell in love with the wilder- ness and finally found the peace and freedom she had always desired. She is survived by her two daughters, Alkini Baldwin of Camas and Thia Chinchen of Colorado; four grand- children and one great-grandchild. Elizabeth A. ‘Liz’ ‘Snow’ Ringwelski JoAnn Anderson, of Washougal, died March 20, 2012, at Peace- Health Medical Center in Vancou- ver, surrounded by family. She was 59. She was born Dec. 16, 1952, in Vancouver, to Buford and Con- stance Sanders. She graduated from Camas High School in 1971, and earned an associate’s degree with honors from Clark College in 1989. She worked multiple professions throughout her life: aerobics instructor, manager and program director at World Gym, real estate agent at Windermere Crest Realty in Camas, and most importantly, a stay-at-home mom for her two daughters. JoAnn loved tending to her garden and flowers, read- ing, being a mom and grandma, exercising, shopping, her kitties, family get-togethers, being in the sun and having a good time. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Marc An- derson; children, Sarah Phelan of Portland; Amy Samu- elson of Everett, Wash.; sons-in-law, Nathan Phelan and Brad Samuelson; brother, Buford Sanders Jr.; three grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Constance; father, Buford Sr.; sister, Kathy; and brother, Bob. A celebration of life service was held Saturday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Washougal. JoAnn Anderson Daphne E. Raynor died March 19 2012, with her loving family by her side. Daphne was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Belfast, Ireland. She was raised in a British military family and moved to Wales during the bombing of London. With the ending of World War II, she went to live in Berlin, Germany where she met her future husband, John. They were married in Gravesend, England in a little church where our princess Pocahontas is buried. Daphne came to America in 1951 where she lived the remainder of her life. To know her was to be in the pres- ence of a quality lady. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael. She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Debi Schuh; sons, David and Jim Raynor. Lois L. Blanchard died March 18, 2012, at home in Washougal. She was 80.
