Pick one of the pirates that most interests you and write about them (This is called a biography). The wind whipped waves rocked the boat. Creative Writing Write a creative short story about the pirate ship below. It can be anything that you want. Think about: where the ship is, how long the ship has been there, does the ship belong to anyone? Is there anybody on board the ship or is it empty? It might even contain gold or treasure. The old ship had been there for 100 long years. From where I was standing, it looked empty. It was very quiet. The only sound was the whistling wind. As I got closer I could see the sails blowing gently in the Pirate Nouns Neatly write out each sentence and underline the nouns in each sentence. The mean and nasty pirate was standing on the old rotten ship. The ugly looking pirate was standing on the scary wooden ship. The nasty old pirate was standing quietly on the huge ship. The pirate’s pesky and colourful parrot squawked loudly. The ship crashed loudly over the waves. The broken ship crashed into the monstrous rocks. Challenge: Can you spot any adverbs? Remember, an adverb describes a verb (action word). The pirate sat quietly. Quietly is the adverb and describes how the pirate sat.

Religious Education – PentecostFocus – Passing on Messages

Christians believe that the Spirit of God is active in each person and, in some special way, in the community of believers, which is the Church. It is the work of the Spirit to enable people to hear God’s message and to live Jesus’ way of service.

Task: Think about the importance of messages. With an adult, talk about what might be the best way to pass on different types of message? A birthday invitation to a friend, the birth of a baby, a school football match has been cancelled, school closure…

Write about a time when you had to pass on a message for someone.

Topic: Land Ahoy! PiratesWith an adult, read through the power point on the school home learning page for Year 2: Pirate Ships. This power point contains all of the information and some brilliant photographs. Then, carefully draw a pirate ship and neatly colour and label the different parts.

Challenge: Give your ship and name, for example: The Jolly Roger

Religious Education – PentecostFocus – Jesus is Risen

Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb where Jesus had been laid. They found the stone covering the tomb had been rolled away, so they went in; but they did not find the body of Jesus. They stood there puzzled, when suddenly two men in bright shining clothes stood by them. Full of fear, the women bowed down to the ground, as the men said, “The Lord Jesus is not here; he has been raised from the dead, he is alive.” The women gave this message to the 11 disciples.

Task: Use a ruler to draw a cross and add a crown of flowers to show Jesus has Risen. Add colour and detail. Above your image, add the title: Jesus has Risen in bold letters.

Topic: Land Ahoy! Pirates

Draw and label a pirate using the following: eye patch, beard, peg leg, parrot, cutlass (sword), hook, pistol, hat, jewellery, flamboyant clothes.

ScienceAnimals including humans. Look at the Keeping Clean power point and read through it with an adult. It’s all about the importance of keeping clean! This is really important to prevent the spread of germs and viruses.

Task: Design a child friendly hand sanitizer product. Give your brand a name too!
