A Time of Beginning Traditionally we think of January as a time of a new beginning. It’s a time of thinking about taking better care of ourselves. It might be by starting that diet. Or perhaps this is the day you join the gym and start an exercise program. Perhaps as a Christian January might be a good time to start that new diet of spiritual food. Or strengthening your Godly relationships and understanding of God’s word. This January there will be an opportunity to begin taking care of your spiritual life whether you are a man, women, or teenager. A Time of Beginning

Traditionally we think of January as a time of a new beginning.

1 Timothy 4:12 ESV

Let no one despise you for

your youth, but set the

believers an example in

speech, in conduct, in love, in

faith, in purity.

MOVE 2013 TIS THE SEASON

On December 16th we were all treated

to wonderful singing by our children

during the worship part of our service.

Sitting in the sanctuary on Sunday

mornings you have no idea just how

many children we have here at Living

Grace.

It was amazing to see how many chil-

dren our wonderful volunteers work

with each week. .

And what a blessing to see all their

smiling faces and to hear the joy in

their voices as they sang for the rest of

us.

To all our children’s workers

MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU!

You may remember that last year our Refuel youth Group

here at Living Grace Church hosted a youth revival called

MOVE. Last year we averaged 350 youth a night for three

incredible nights. It was a time not only of growing spiritu-

ally, it was also a time for our youth to grow in taking re-

sponsibility. Our Refuel group worked very hard during the

revival. They invited, greeted and helped in so many ways

to make the revival a huge success.

This year

MOVE 2013

will be held January 31st-February2nd at 6:30PM.

According to Mike Humphress, “One of the things that has

been a great blessing in REFUEL over the last few months

is that we now have a youth praise and worship band. The

band is made up entirely of our youth. We had several col-

lege kids from Campbellsville University who came and

worked with our youth and helped them put the band to-

gether. The group has put in a lot of practice and have

worked really hard and

they are getting better

every week.” This group

of dedicated youth serv-

ing other youth is one

more example of growth

by our

REFUEL GROUP.

The Real Thrill

Philippians 2:1-4

If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if there

is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the

Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy

complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the

same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do

nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with hu-

mility of mind let each of you regard one another as more

important than himself; do not merely look out for your

own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

During the last year we have been blessed to see The Real Thrill ministry grow from one that operated only during the holidays into a ministry that is used and doing God’s work through out the entire year. As we finish up 2012 and start to look at 2013 let’s take just a minute and look back at the opportunities you had to volunteer and serve as part of “The Real Thrill.” Perhaps you started the year off by helping with the food drive in January. If you remember we decided to have the food drive after the holidays because that was the time of year the local food banks in Campbellsville and Greensburg were at their lowest. Or maybe you were one of

The volunteers who helped make the widows and widowers Valentines dinner such a success. And if you remember we had a lot of request from the attendees hoping we would do it again this year. Remember last spring as we collected flip flops to be sent to Ghana Africa? Or perhaps you were part of helping to send missionaries to Ghana as part of Feed the Orphans last summer. And for the second year we all took part in the Change for Change campaign. Once again you helped with your change to dig wells in Africa to supply fresh drinking water to those in need. And who can forget Thanksgiving at Living Grace Church? This year we had 350 people sharing

Thanksgiving dinner and “Open MIc” night together. And as in years past you invited the campers who work the holiday season at Amazon. And the men from the Healing Place. And in December you did caroling at local nursing homes and were a blessing to those who can no longer get out or who feel alone during the holidays. Currently the food drive is going on once again. And it’s time to not only reflect. It is also time to decide for 2013 what will be YOUR “REAL THRILL?”

From December 30 through February 3, LGC is going to be

downloading “Apps for Life.”

In this 6-week message series, I hope to show and convince

you that faithful, consistent, diligent practice of spiritual

disciplines will truly grow you as believers in Christ. A great

Christian writer once said (and I paraphrase), “You can’t be a

true disciple of Jesus and not practice spiritual disciplines. To

be a disciple means you love the disciplines.”

Each week, we will tackle a spiritual discipline to learn these

tools reshape our thinking, feeling, and doing before Lord.

Much like a good workout at the gym or taking a nice, long

therapeutic walk around the neighborhood, the spiritual

disciplines refresh, rejuvenate, and energize your faith in

Jesus and your intimacy with God.

Would you download these Apps for Life? Here are the 6

apps we will be talking about.

Dec. 30 - Words with Friends - a focus on Scripture

reading and memory.

Jan. 6 - FaceTime - a focus on the power and variety of

prayer.

Jan. 13 - Square - a focus on tithing, giving, and

stewarding of God’s resources.

Jan. 20 - PayPal - a focus on work, debt, financial

wisdom and being a faithful steward.

Jan. 27 - Calorie Count - a focus on how fasting

intensifies spiritual fervency and focus.

Feb. 3 - DropBox - a focus on evangelism and how to

share your faith with others.

Blessings to you for this new year. Let this be one that is

completely given to the Lord.

Happy New Year,

Shane

Our Grace Group has decided to book a trip this

coming spring, during spring break, to New

York City. We are going to charter a 56

passenger tour bus and are only going to take

the first 46 that wish to go. This will allow

everyone a little extra room on the bus to move

around. The dates are as follows: Leave

Campbellsville on Friday morning March 29,

2013 and leave New York City on Wednesday

morning April 3, 2012 heading home. The main

reason for our trip is to attend worship service

on Easter Sunday morning at the Brooklyn

Tabernacle and attend their Tuesday night

prayer service.

We also plan on visiting Ground Zero and St.

Paul's Chapel as well as touring many other

landmarks and seeing the sites. There is plenty of time to save your money

before it’s time to go. The cost for the bus will

be $200.00 per person, which covers all

transportation, and there will be 5 nights of

hotel stay which we are hoping will cost in the

low $100 range per night. Some couples may

want to split a room and some singles as well,

which will reduce the cost per person. The only

other expenses should be the cost of food and

whatever the cost to see the sites as well as

your personal expenditures. If anyone is

interested, message me or give me a call at

Green River Glass (789-3709) or my cell phone

(469-6106).

Rauch Grace Group

The Rauch Grace Group will be starting a new study by

Max Lucado entitled “Just Like Jesus.” The concept of

the book is “God loves you just the way you are, but he

refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be Just

Like Jesus.”

Please join us for this exciting study that will be held on

Thursday nights at 6:30 starting January 3rd. This study

will be held at the Rauch Ranch.

For directions and questions about this study please call

Dave or Lorna Rauch at

Pray for the

Pastor Selection Team

As our Pastor Selection Team continues to look through all

the applications coming in for the position of Lead Pastor

here at Living Grace let’s all make a commitment. Let’s

make a commitment to pray. Not only pray for the team.

Let’s also be praying for the man God has already called to

lead us in the days, months and many years to come.

Pray our team has wisdom, and discernment from God as

they work together searching for the right man.

And let’s not forget to pray for ourselves and each other dur-

ing this time of transition. Let’s pray that each of us contin-

ues to grow spiritually to prepare our-

selves for the new pastors arrival.

Pray that God will give each of us

boldness to invite the lost to come to

know Jesus here at Living Grace

Church.

And pray that each and everyone of us

would find the ministry that we are

called to volunteer in.

“God is good all the time

And all the time God is good”

Matthew 25:35

“ For I was hungry and you gave

me food, I was thirsty and you

gave me drink, I was a stranger

and you welcomed me, naked

and you clothed me, sick and in

prison, and you visited me.”

For You are my rock and my

fortress;

Therefore, for Your name’s

sake,

Lead me and guide me.

The Women’s ministry would like

to invite ladies of all ages to join us

for a meeting on January 28, 2013 at

6:30pm. We will meet in the large

conference room. Someone will be

at the front door to direct those not

familiar with the conference room’s

location! The purpose of our

meeting is to get together to

formulate plans as to how we can

collectively serve Christ through

serving others. Some items to be

discussed will be providing meals

for families during various life

events. If you don’t enjoy cooking,

there are many other ways you can

participate. Bring with you your

ideas of how we can invigorate and

excite the women at Living Grace to

become a unified body of servers.

See you on January 28th!!!
