God calls Saint Clement Parish El Señor llama a la parroquia de San Clemente to be a welcoming, worshipping a ser una comunidad amigable, que adore community of faith, hope, and love. y sirva al Señor con fe, esperanza y amor.

A Reflection From Deacon Paul:

To Shelter the Homeless

The next element of the Corporal Works of Mercy is sheltering the homeless. But who are the homeless? There are different ways of categorizing homelessness. First, they are street people, migrants, refugees, orphans, and foster children. Then there are those who are alienated, marginalized abused and misunderstood people who suffer a state of emotional dispossession. Finally, there are those totally lacking belief in God and suffer a sense of exile. For all these forms of homelessness, providing shelter entails fostering a sense of belonging to others. One group that shares all those issues is homeless teens. “Covenant House” is dedicated to helping homeless teens. On their web page they posted: “Each year in the U.S. alone, as many as 2 million youth experience a period of homelessness, and every year more than 5,000 of these young people lose their lives to the streets. Their hope and promise are lost forever unless they find someone – like Covenant House – to love and care for them.” They continue: “Half of homeless youth left a home where they suffered physical and sexual abuse.” To help homeless youth you may consider donating to organizations like “Covenant House” who are reaching out to these children and helping them build a new life.

Dar posada a las personas sin

hogar

125th Anniversary of St. Clement This year St. Clements is celebrating its 125

th birth-

day, and the Parish Council find that’s something to

celebrate. We will be hosting a celebratory mass

with Archbishop Lori on August 28th, followed by a

reception across the street.

We would like to ask for your help in three ways:

First, we are starting a committee with Mike Beale-

feld, Maggie Miller, Lulu Espinoza, and Kelsey

Grace. If anyone would like to be on the commit-

tee, we would appreciate the help. Talk with me

after Mass.

Second, we are collecting any and all photographs,

videos, and other paraphernalia related to the

church or the school. Copies are acceptable. We

would like to display these time capsules for all to

see at the reception.

And, third, we’d like to call all artists to show us

your talents. We will be hosting a t-shirt design

competition in the months of March and April, we

will vote on the designs in May, and the t-shirts will

go on sale for a fundraiser during the summer

months thru the end of August. The competition

officially starts today. I will have a flyer and the

contest rules in the back of mass today, and we will

be placing some in next week’s bulletin.

I hope you’re all as excited as we are to celebrate

such a milestone with our beloved church commu-

nity and we look forward to the treasures you find.

Thank you.

tres maneras:

Primero, estamos empezando a formar un comité

con Mike Bealefeld, Maggie Miller, Lulu Espinoza, y

Kelsey Grace. Si alguien desea ser miembro de

este comité, le agradeceriamos su ayuda. Hable

conmigo despues de Misa.

Segundo, estamos colectando fotographias, videos

Gra-

cias.
