Path to Pitt—Guaranteed Admission ProgramInternational students who are academically prepared to study in an undergraduate program at the University of Pittsburgh but need additional English language training can take advantage of the Path to Pitt program. The Path to Pitt program is an alternative to conditional admission and provides eligible students with an opportunity for guaranteed admission to one of the University of Pittsburgh’s four campuses after successfully completing studies in Pitt’s English Language Institute (ELI).

In the Path to Pitt program, you will:

• Build English language skills to succeed at Pitt• Develop presentation and classroom discussion skills• Strengthen essay-writing skills• Expand note-taking skills for academic lectures• Enhance reading comprehension strategies

• Prepare for academic studies in the U.S.• Discover ways to be an active participant in an academic classroom• Formulate new ways to interact with individuals from different

backgrounds, experiences, and cultures• Develop skills to interact with faculty and staff at a US university• Learn how to use resources at the university before you begin

International Scholarships The University of Pittsburgh funds USD 2,000 worth of scholarships to international students each year. These are given for eight full undergraduate terms, as long as its recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA and meets all of the other terms and conditions set out in the award.
