Their mission is to help people of all ages to build upon their self esteem, act wisely, stay safe, and believe in themselves. Kidpower provides “Stay Safe” classes that educated the community of how to deal with certain life threatening situations, bullying being a part of one of these aspects. They also accommodate the Spanish speaking community by providing workbooks and workshops in Spanish. Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance (PVPSA) is a nonprofit agency available to the families and staff of Pajaro Valley Unified School District. PVPSA’s mission is to inform and educate their members, train and counsel them, along with providing prevention services to their students. Youth Services is an agency that provides counseling services for children of all ages and their families. Their mission is problem solve any challenges a family needs help dealing with. Their staff specializes in supporting and guiding adolescence and their family with a wide range of challenges that they may face. Whether it’s related to school, family, or substance abuse, Youth Services are available to provide a helpful hand. Resources within School(Meso/Micro): Conflict resolution team- is a peer meditation group and its used for prevention disputes, Safe Schools /Healthy students, Peers Making Peace training it’s a national meditation group they help their peers by listening and giving guidance, Law enforcement officers help for anti bullying within campus, Drug and alcohol use programs and gang prevention. Family and Friends (MICRO): The key point where you should look for when building confidence in one itself would start by looking at family and friends. The way one is treated since birth can really influence the way you will grow up and how you will feel about yourself, and the way others will see you. If parents, siblings, relatives, and/or teachers and other educators start teaching children about the having respect in yourself, not letting anyone walk over you, and bullying in this case, the number of children and youth being bullied right now will completely decrease. Most of the bullying being done at schools is due to the victims not being able to defend themselves because of fear. This is where it is really important for family and friends to step in and show them that there is a way out of all that and help is out there, and bullying can be stopped! Individual Level (Micro): Education-to be informed to know what +/-- there are in order for you to know what resources to turn to. Positive self esteem- to feel comfortable with yourself and empowered yourself to prevent self harm. Respect- for yourself and the others to connect well with others. To be involved- to take actions and to intervene when needed.
