4 Sessions 2014 Orange County Global Women’s Conference

Sessions

Agents of ChangeWhat inspired these women to dedicate themselves to change the lives of others, and work to improve their communities, and become catalysts for change? Our panel of professionals in Philanthropy will tell their personal stories, how and when their passion for their cause was born, and how their organization makes a difference.

Career Connection: The Importance of MentorshipDo you think you need a few helpful hints on moving up the career ladder? The discussion on Career Connections: the Importance of Mentorship focuses on giving and receiving professional development guidance from successful individuals in specific areas of interest. The objective is to provide information on selecting mentors and developing a strong mentor/mentee relationship. Wouldn’t you like to know if gender, ethnicity, profession and/or geographic location impacts the mentor/mentee relationship? - Or, perhaps you would like to know how to identify the right mentor to address your concerns and guide you on your path to success. Hear from experts and other like-minded individuals who have given – and received – the benefits of mentoring.

Embrace Life & Feed Your SoulThis panel of professionals will enlighten you to take steps to a healthy mind, body, and soul. They will teach you to become more aware of yourself and the people around you, communicate more effectively, and build stronger relationships.

Courageous Conversations on Diversity How well do you really know other women who are different from you culturally, ethically, and racially? Through a panel of diverse women, this session takes the participants through a very personal and in-depth dialogue about their cultural heritage, values, success strategies, and other important elements about their lives. Participants will gain insights and useful tools to engage and advance the diversity agenda in both personal and professional lives.

Reinventing Your Career and What the Millennial Generation Has to Teach UsPanelists will be sharing stories and lessons learned from their own “career reinventions” and tell us what we can learn from the generational differences in our workplaces today. They will tell us why career reinvention is so important to success, and share their tips for how you can—and should--reinvent yours!

Redefining the Power of Women Increasingly, research shows that women bring valuable insights and experiences to the worlds of business and decision making. Companies that embrace diversity have had better performance. The number of women in top positions of major organizations is increasing rapidly, and women are demonstrating their capabilities as powerful leaders. In this session you can hear firsthand from our female industry and business leaders about how they discovered their own leadership styles that have led them to become more effective and authentic leaders.

The Global Impact of WomenMore and more women are becoming leaders in the international community. With these roles (or positions) comes the capacity to affect change in a greater global community. How have women changed the world and what more can be done? These are four powerful women representing the women from their home.
