    believe in ghosts, while on the other

    hand, the "# thin$ they%re &ust'ctional tales to scare children so

    they go to bed when they%re told.

    with many countryside around. +ere%s

    where our urban legend was born

     )5 +otel* leaves her own business

     place with her /1 year old daughter

    mily, so they could 'nally get the

    7uitter, peace!ul and ghostless li!e

    they had been loo$ing !orward !or the

    last 3 years.8t all began three years be!ore this

    last !act. 8n "111, Samantha was

    loo$ing !or two basic things in her li!e9

    a sustainable &ob and a home. She

    wasn%t homeless, though. :ut she has

     &ust got divorced, and by that time , all 

    she really wanted was a com!ortable

    She started to welcome tourists

    coming !rom many parts o! S(. >hile

    some o! them had been raised in big

    cities, many others had spent their

    lives in countryside.

    bought the house, she had visited the

    buy it or not. leanor, the old lady,

    who has o@ered her the sale some

    days ago, showed Samantha every

    corner o! the house, but the basement 

    Aa detail that Samantha didn%t mindB.

     (!ter the tour, Samantha was

    completely sure on her own decision,

    which she has let leanor $now* sheonly had to sign some papers and

    she%d be the new +ouse%s owner. 8

    had never been so eCciting on buying

    a house. 8t was beauti!ul in and

    outside o!5. She had !orgotten the

    basement thing, and honestly, she

    didn%t care about it. ot until leanor

    Samantha remembers, but 8 gave her

    Hhere was a 7uiet silence a!ter this

    short conversation. >hen Samantha

    signed all the papers, leanor wal$ed

    with her to the door be!ore giving her

    the +ouse $ey. Samantha wasn%t that

    sure, but she thought there was a

    worried loo$ on leanor%s !ace. Finally,

    she said 8%m glad you%ve bought thehouse, and about your &ob plans with

    Samantha was $ind o! shoc$ed with

    theses news, but she agreed anyway.

    >ee$s later a!ter this weird episode,Samantha and little mily were settled 

    down in )ac$sonville, and the S 4 )

    +otel5 has &ust had a great beginning.

    Some (ustralian sightseers have &ust

    arrived in town, and they%d been told

    about an old residence where touristswere welcomed. Hhe best part about

    this !act was the location9 no city

    suburbs, neither cars noises nor urban

    mess. 8t was li$e a !airy cabin in the

    woods.

    Samantha couldn%t be happier, though

    things were gonna ta$e a change

    since that moment until the time she

    le!t !or good.

    Hhe guests could have dinner in the

    dinner room or in the living room, but

    the 'rst option was the one they were

    used to. >hen they were in the hotel,

    which was every Friday night* it was

    aybe it was the !un time we had

    that wo$e up the ghost5 E Samantha

    thin$s.

    Hwo wee$s later a!ter the tourists%

    arrival, Samantha began to !eel some

    weird things going on. ot that she

    !elt scared, but it was pretty much li$e

    a !eel o! insecurity. 8 remember that

    it was li$e someone was staring at me

    when 8 was coo$ing, or cleaning upthe rooms.5- She remembers E 8

    cannot say i! there was ever someone,

    because my bac$ was always to the

    ghost% 5

    Hhe worst thing is that it wasn%t only

    her. any o! the guests claimed they

    have !elt a cold breathing on their

    nec$s when they were ta$ing a

    shower, or &ust ta$ing a rest. (nd the

    tourist gave us this main detail,

    Samantha began to thin$ she was

    getting paranoiac, and her daughter

    as well, because she assured to have

    seen a woman in blac$% on the second

    certainly believed it was in the

    basement, where no one has been in

    to.

    8 have no idea how she got the $ey o! 

    this basement, but when 8 realiJed,

    she was opening the door and going

    stairs down5 E Samantha told E 8t was

    li$e a Flashbac$. 8 &ust remembered

    leanor%s words9 Don%t let her getinto the basement%  

    8 caught her &ust when she was

    coming inside the basement. 8 didn%t

    yell at her, but 8 sent her to her

    bedroom5 E she remembers E 8 don%t$now how 8 could see the stairs in

    there. 8t was only dar$ness. Hhen 8

    the hotel, the woman in blac$ that

    showed up on the second hen Samantha was done, leanor

    too$ a deep breath and started to tell

    her the tragedy that once happened

    at the =learons$y%s.

    Acousins, siblings, grandparents...B

     &oined at the place and made a great

     party. Hhey played, sang and made

     &o$es. :ut it was in /K6K, when =lear

    =learons$y, playing +ide and see$%,

    decided to go downstairs.n!ortunately, she !ell down, and hit

    her head, bleeding as hell, so she died 

    almost immediately.

    Since then, the house has been

    abandoned5 -leanor 'nished.

    Few days later, Samantha closed the

    hotel, and le!t !or good with her
