    Preparations

    Objectives:

    In this chapter you

    will

    ieam:

    • The level of expertise required for 20 CAD design in eng ineering

    • How

    to

ut ilize sketch tools, mirror, draft for part modeli ng

    • How to model 3D parts using Extrusion. Revolved. features tools

    as

    well as

    using Reference Planes

    • How

    to

solve part modeli ng problems required for Certified SolidWorks

    Associate CSWA

    INTRO

    UC

    TION

    This goal

    of

    th is chapter

    is to

assist readers to achieve the level of expertise in 20 CAD

    design as

    it

    applies to engineer

    in

g and to hel p them pass the Certified SolidWorks

Associate (CSWA) which is synonymous with competence

    in

    olidWorks

    at

    foundation

and apprentice level of 20 CAD design and engineering practices and principles. A

number of tutorials are presented in this chapter to

    ac

    hieve thi s goal.
