Stem Cell Therapy at Neurogen

A brief timeline of the beginning of the treatment

and what are we doing today

But the use of the term stem cells first began with Alexander Maksimov coining the phrase in 1908

Even before the term stem cells was coined people had the notion that a single cell could cause cancer or rebuild an organ

In 1885, August Weismann spoke of stem cells but called them germ cells

Pappenheim’s and Jordon & Johnson pubished a paper in 1917-1918 and Sabin published her paper in 1936

Credit is given in the chapters of history to Till and McCulloch’s who published their paper in 1963

In 1946, Arrick published a paper tagged stem cell lymphoma in new borns.

In 1978, stem cells were discovered in the human cord blood

In 1981, the very first in vitro stem cell line was developed in mice

In 1988, embryonic stem cell lines were developed in hamsters

That is where it all began but what of the recent past?

In 1995, first embryonic stem cell line was derived from a primate.

In 1997, we cloned a lamb from stem cells and also found Leukaemia’s origin as haematopoietic stem cell opening the indications to cancerous stem cells.

But where are we today?

We have come a long way from all these discoveries today. We have moved towards the use of adult stem cells from embryonic stem cells in treatment and therapy of many disorders had very little scope of improvement. Adult stem cells are used to treat diabetes, various heart conditions, leukaemia, and disorders of the nervous system.

Stem Cell Therapy at Neurogen

And that is what we do here are at Neurogen, use stem cell therapy to treat neurological disorders like autism, cerebral

palsy, dementia, muscular dystrophy, head injuries and other such conditions to help improve the quality of life of our patients and their care givers. Our methodology is the combination of stem cell treatment with rehabilitation that

has shown a greater degrees of success than any other form of traditional medicine has till date.

Stem Cell Therapy at Neurogen

Our treatment methodology requires no major surgery. We conduct an aspiration of the bone marrow that is completed within half an hour. The stem cells are then purified in 3 to 5 hours. These stem cells are then injected into the spine of the patient using a spinal needle. This treatment is then

followed up with a rehabilitation routine that is adapted to the needs of every single patient.

Stem Cell Therapy at Neurogen

We don’t medicate our patients. We aim to deliver to them a better quality of life and happiness as best as possible!
