A rare cause of trigeminal neuralgia: dysplastic venous aneurysm of dural arteriovenous fistula

• Trigeminal neuralgia is a common neuropathic disorder characterized by episodes of intense pain in the face.

• Vascular compression of the root entry zone of the trigeminal nerve is the most common cause of trigeminal neuralgia.

• Despite the offending vessel is frequently an artery, trigeminal neuralgia cases resulting from venous compression of the nerve root are also reported.

• A dysplastic venous aneurysm may be a rare cause of trigeminal neuralgia due to compression of trigeminal nerve.
