Salutation
Distinguished Chief Guest, Honourable members of the management, Respected
teachers, Dear friends and Beloved students....
It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you all for this wonderful occasion of
9th Annual Day celebrations of our college. I must, at the outset, express my deep sense
of thankfulness to all of you for having consented to be with us. I extend my greetings to
all and I am appreciative of your gesture of kindness in being with us to give us a sense
of happiness, and to share with us the moments of pleasure.
This is the time to take a quick look at the road that we have travelled, the
challenges that we have faced, the milestones that we have crossed and the values that
have brought into the lives of those who believe in our vision of empowerment and
mission of service.
May I take this opportunity to submit before you the Annual Report for the
academic year 2014-15 which includes only those academic activities which we
consider significant and worth-sharing within the constraints of time and space.
Genesis of the college
Wavoo Wajeeha Women’s College stands as a testimony to the vision of our
founder Alhaj. Wavoo S.Seyed Abdur Rahman. The college which was started in the year
2006 has carved out a name for itself in the academic map of our district through the
demonstrated excellence in academic and social activities. The great wish of Alhaj.
Wavoo S. Seyed Abdur Rahman is being shaped into reality under the banner of Wavoo
SAR Educational Trust. This college is strategically located with a noble objective to
bring in more value and meaning to the lives of women who occupy the lower ranks in
social, regional, cultural, financial and educational levels.

Programs of Study
We offer 8 Under Graduate programs and 2 Post Graduate Programs. We are
pleased to inform you that we have recently started B.A., Tamil Literature with
Computer applications since last year.
Staff
This college draws its strength from the committed and dedicated teachers who
represent different social, regional and cultural backgrounds of our nation. There are
around 53 members of which one holds a doctorate degree and 39 others are M.Phil.,
degree holders. We are delighted to say that two of our staff members have cleared the
State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) and around 13 members of our staff have been
pursuing their Ph.D’s in their respective disciplines. In order to give our students proper
orientation in the academic subjects such as law, we have availed an experienced part-
time lawyer too. Besides this, there are 39 non-teaching (support-staff) to facilitate
smooth administration of the college.
Infrastructure
We are really honoured to have a management which is so liberal and
magnanimous in providing us with all sorts of facilities and assistance to offer the best
educational services to our students. The infrastructure and other facilities, which are
required, and as prescribed by the university, are available in such proportions to create
an environment conducive for learning and teaching. The vast campus of our college
which spans for about 5 acres of land provides an idyllic beauty to our eyes.
Library and Labs
True to the words of Samuel Niger who said long ago ‘A good library is a place, a
palace where the lofty spirits of all nations and generations meet’, we have a library
which houses around 8000 books on different disciplines and branches. Our spacious
library is a perennial attraction for all our students and staff alike. Besides these
valuable books, we do have magazines, periodicals, journals and a stock of research
papers for the reference of our academic community. The technological support we
have in the library helps our students and staff to gain an access to the digital libraries
of different universities and academic bodies.

Our library has a huge stock of thousands of books on different fields, genres and
disciplines. Also, we have subscribed to no less than 15 journals both of academic
importance, 31 magazines of different categories and 10 newspapers of different
languages. These rich resources benefit a lot in quenching the third of knowledge of our
students and staff.
Our college has well-equipped computer laboratories to meet the academic
demands of each of the Departments of Computer Science and Information Technology.
We have more than 68 computers with Intel dual core systems and high speed LAN and
uninterrupted internet connection is accessible from the server round the clock.
We have an exclusive laboratory for Physics Department with all sorts of
equipments and instruments required experiments. The prayer halls allotted to
students on our campus which keep them connected to spiritual world amidst their
academic schedule.
Transport
The college operates a fleet of around 12 buses and a number of vans to the
service of our students. Our busses fly every day covering a radius of around 65 kms to
reach out to the needy students who would have been otherwise put to great
discomfort.
Orientation Program
The students who step into our portals of learning from different schools have to
be properly re-oriented into college education system. We are aware of the causes of
confusion and frictions. Hence, to tide away with it, we organize orientation programme
for the new entrants every year. This academic year too, a two day orientation program
was conducted between 25.06.2014 and 27.06.2014. Our founder president Alhaj.
Wavoo. S. Seyed Abdur Rahman, the Secretary, Haji. Wavoo M.M. Mohuthazeen, the
Assistant Secretary Haji. Hafiz. S.A.R. Ahamed Ishaque. M.A, (Azhari, Egypt), the

Alumnae
The Alumnae association of our College strives to promote an enduring
relationship between old students and their alma mater. It also facilitates and nurtures
lasting friendships through annual meetings. It initiates steps to recognise outstanding
achievements, provide scholarships for deserving students, and promised to cooperate
with the college authorities for the development of the college, and organises
programmes in order to benefit the students studying in the institution. Last year on
27.08.14 the Alumnae meeting was held. Around 135 old students have participated in
it. Miss. Zulaiha Adhila BBA., and Miss Muthu Lakshmi B.A., were elected as president
and secretary respectively.
Library
E-Learning User Details
Our college is proud to have a library which serves us a backbone to our
academic system. The students and the faculty make use of the E- facility for their ready
reference for all academic matters. We have an average of 30 student visitors every day.
We do have N-List facility with an access to online international journals and research
papers. These facilities help our teachers and students to stay updated and abreast with
the development in their subject.
Activities
1. On behalf of our library, we conducted a book exhibition on 16-12-2014 to 17-
02-2014. Hundreds of students from nearby schools too visited and got
benefited.
2. In order to ignite the spirit of reading in our students, we organized a meet on
Readers’ Forum on 16.10.2014 and 26.02.2015. Good number of students
participated in this discussion session and shared their experience of reading the
books like Njd; Jspfs;, cq;fshy; KbAk; ;vq;Nf mikjp;, tho;thq;F tho;e;j
ts;sy;;, thdk; trg;gLk; vd;why; ;,rhpj;jpuk; gilj;j rhjid ngz;fs; with their
friends and teachers alike.
3. On 15-11-2015, a few students of our college along with the librarian

Photography Club
This club has been formed to create aesthetic skills among students, and to
engage them in the activities which could promote creativity, team work, innovation
and originality. Several non-formal and informal activities were considered and
implemented to involve the students in an educationally engaging manner. One such
activity is that the members of this club had been given the task of painting an ideal
setting for the dais located in our auditorium with a sense of details which every
photographer needs to have, and it was encouraging to find lively participation from
our students and through this activity certain skills connected to photography were
incidentally imparted to our students.
Future plans
1. It has been widely felt, in our area, the need to start as many Post Graduate
courses as possible to help our students accessing to quality higher education. in
the forthcoming year, we are going to start the PG course in Mathematics also. This

is expected to bring a ray of hope to many aspiring students whose dream of higher
education would otherwise have been a distant possibility.
2. Our management is unquestionably committed to provide the best of
infrastructures to make our college a center for excellence. In this regard, as a
reflection of their resolve, our management has taken a decision to construct an
auditorium and a smart room with all the state-art technology to host academic
programs.
3. Our college has been encouraging all kinds of academic activities and programs
with a view to promote an environment which is most suitable for imparting
meaningful education. We do, in great measure, support and encourage our staff
members to involve in UGC minor projects in order to bring them new dimensions
of research and developmental activities on our campus.
4. We are devoted to offer an intensive employability training to our students
through our innovative skill development programs. These programs shall cover
areas such as communication, soft skills, personality development, cross cultural
competence, leadership skills and attitude building besides other technical skills.
We are resolved to offer rigorous training in these areas through roping in with the
institutes and training organizations which have got indisputable record in the
similar field.
Conclusion
I should be thankful to all the members of the management, my dear staff
members and students for having contributed to the glittering record of success to our
college. I dutifully recognize and thankfully recollect the painstaking efforts of our staff,
who through their unquestionable dedication and untiring efforts, have made all this
success possible. I urge that that they will continue to extend their full cooperation and
undivided loyalty to the institution which will reach the place that destiny has in store.
Also, I should thank all my beloved students too for having accompanied to the values of
our college and our culture, and for having brought us name and fame. I should also
thank all the parents who have afforded their continual encouragement and support for
all our decision that we take in the best interest of our students. It is true that what all
we claim to have achieved is very little when compared what we are capable of
achieving. I am sure in the days and months to come; Wavoo Wajeeha College will
continue to march ahead and forward steadily in the direction of its dream to translate
the noble vision of our college and hopes of our society into a reality.
