Description
Rockwell Automation/Allen-BradleyDeviceNet sensors interface directly tothis industry standard plant floornetwork without the need for additionalI/O blocks or adaptors. In addition to thestandard On/Off indication, DeviceNetcompatible sensors provide advancedlogic and diagnostic functions notavailable in competitive DeviceNetmodels. Logic functions includecounters, timers and motion detectionwhile the diagnostics warn of unstableapplication characteristics. Forexample, the 871TM DeviceNetproximity sensor will produce adiagnostic output when the target is tooclose to the sensor face or at theoutside edge of the sensing range.Further, Allen-Bradley DeviceNetsensors may be configured for eitherstrobing or change-of-state (COS)operating modes, normally open ornormally closed outputs (light operate ordark operate for photoelectric sensors)and discrete or analog output. Thisflexibility allows a single sensor to beconfigured for a variety of applications.
DeviceNet sensors may be assigned
any node address between 0 and 63.While a sensors baud rate isdetermined automatically as it is addedto the network (autobaud), it may alsobe manually programmed to 125, 250,or 500kb/s. Configuration of all networkand sensor parameters can be doneover the network with Rockwell
Softwares RSNetWorx package and forfield configuration or diagnostics, theDeviceView Hand-Held Configurator(2707DNC) is available.
For applications requiring many sensorsand simple On/Off indication only,Allen-Bradley DeviceLink is the idealsolution. Serving as a gateway betweena standard, off-the-shelf sensing deviceand the DeviceNet network, DeviceLinkis compatible with any 2- or 3-wire 24Vsensor with open collector sourcingoutput, any device with relay contactsor any mechanical sensing device.Each DeviceLink acts as a single nodeon the network.

High Degree of Versatility
Bulletin 802DN limit switches can bemounted in any position, with operatingheads that can be rotated and fastenedin any one of four positions 90_ apart.Most operating levers areinterchangeable and can be rotated andclamped in any position through 360_.
NEMA Type 13 Construction
802DN limit switches feature NEMAType 13 construction with syntheticrubber seals to protect the operatingparts against entry of oil, dust,abrasives, water and coolant, within thelimits of NEMA-specified tests.
Easy Mounting and Wiring
Each switch base has four mountingholes: two through holes for frontmounting and two tapped holes in theback for rear mounting. Three differentwiring styles are available for ease of
installation. Each of the models isavailable for order with one of thefollowing: a five-pin micro quick-disconnect, a five-pin mini quick-disconnect, or a prewired two metercable.
Lever Type Switches
These switches are operated by meansof a lever which is clamped to a knurledshaft extending from the operatinghead.
Lever type switches can be equippedwith a variety of operating levers: rollerlever, adjustable roller lever, micrometeradjustment roller lever, rod lever,one-way rod or roller lever and forklever. These can be usedinterchangeably on all lever typeswitches.
The micrometer adjustment roller lever,catalog number 802TW6, is designedespecially for installations where theexact position of the roller is critical.This lever has a pivoted roller whichcan be turned laterally. After clampingthe lever to the switch shaft, the positionof the roller can be precisely adjustedthrough an arc of 7.5_ on either side ofthe center or straight-line position.
Wide Belt Roller
The802DNWBRXX limit switchescome packaged with a special leverarm. This limit switch has been
specifically designed for preciseposition detection of conveyor belts. Byusing the advanced features ofDeviceNet, this limit switch is ideal forthis application.
