S. Constitution. Each class released three balloons - red, white, and blue - to symbolize citizens’ voice in our government. Also during Constitution Week, Ms. Amelia Morrison’s class members memorized the amendments to the U. S. Constitution with a song. They presented the song to the student body during morning meeting. Students celebrate the U. S. Constitution Friday, September 24, Anderson Kindergarten students celebrated their accomplishments of the first six weeks. Students gave “Andy” big high fives as their names were called to receive the Reading Award, Math Award, Handwriting Award, Character Award, plus perfect attendance and/or Kindergarten Kadet awards. The Family Resource Center also presented awards for The Reading Wall of Fame. “We are well on our way to a great year!” said Anderson Assistant Principal Cindy Smith. Anderson students receive recognition at Pep Rally Ms. Sue Hart, a representative with the Jackson Chapter of the American Red Cross, came to all of the Culinary Arts classes at Haywood High School recently. She gave a brief history of the American Red Cross and talked about preparedness, basic first aid, the Heimlich maneuver, and gave a very basic introduction to CPR. Pam Stephens is the teacher of the Culinary Arts classes. ARC representative Ms. Sue Hart visits HHS classes This lucky and excited Anderson student, Corterious Byars, was the Principal’s Club bicycle winner that was given at the school’s first pep rally by the Rotary Club, with the helmet and safety gear given by the Brownsville Police Department. He is a student in Mrs. Jessie Warren’s kindergarten class. Making the presentation were Chuck Willis of the Brownsville Police Department and Chris Lea from the Brownsville Rotary Club.
