    Iris FlowersC-908, Maryland Miniatures Unlimited, Towson, MD

    Supplies:Flower punch by EK SuccessrM Fig 1), ound at scrapbooking torel/4" round punch

    1/8" round punchLight weight vellum or rice paper or paper of your choice)Acrylic paint:

    lraves & stem-sage green, t. gray, medium or lt. blue,Flowers-bright yellow , and others of your choice

    Paint brushesCloth covered wire,22 gaugeWire snipsCrafter's PickrMUltimate glue (or white glue)Scissors, uticleor similarStyrofoam to use or a drying station)Toothpicks1/8" ball stylusFoam pad

    Instructions:L Cut wire abott2 112" ong. Place a drop of glue along each end o prevent unraveling.2. Paint he paper with the color(s) or the flowers, Let dry. Paint he reverse nd et dry,3. Make a mix of sage green, t. gray and ust a small drop of blue paint or the eaves and stems. Paint both sides of

    another sheet of paper or vellum with this mix. Paint wires with this color.4. For each lower, punch rom paper each ofthe circle punches nd 2 flower shapes. Cut2 leaves roml/4" circle

    punch.5. Glue he 1/8" circle flat on the top of a wire. Place n Styrofoam o dry. (fig. 2)6. Cut the petals rom the flower shapes. You will need 6 petals or each lower. (fig.3)7. Place petals on the foam pad. Run the stylus ball along he petal edges o ruffle, and n the center o 'cup' them.8. Glue 3 petals evenly spaced round he center, curved down with 'glue' on the outside, Creasing he petal at the

    cut edge a tiny bit may help n gluing the petal o the center. Let dry. (fig.4, two petals shown n example.)9. Using the tip of a toothpick or a very fine paint brush, paint a br4ight yellow line from the middle of the center o

    about half way down the petals. Lrt dry.10. Glue he next 3 petals upright and evenly spaced round he center and between he ower petals. After the flower

    is dry, touch up the yellow center f needed. fig. 5)

    Adding buds:Emerging lower bud11 . Rollupthe l/4"circlepunchof heflowercolor. Thenfoldinhalf oneof he l4" circlepunchof heleaf olor.

    Put a drop of glue on one end of the rolled up circle and place t centered, alf inside he folded circle. Now gluethe bottom of the folded circle around he wire stem /4" below the flower to form a bud. (fig. 6, 7, 8)

    Immature bud12. Now just fold in half the other green circle and glue t to the stem /8" to ll4" below the bud. (fig. 9)

    Leaves13. Cut a strip of the eaf colored paper about 314" wide.14. Cut ong triangular spikes, at east 5 for each lower.15. Glue fanned out leaf spikes o bottom of stem, above ground evel". Dry. (fig. ll,l2)16. Plant and enjoy

    1. Cut out patterns or wall and loor of box. Trial fit into your box, and adjust as needed. f you printed hebackground icture flooring, or brick on a home computer, hen spray hem with a couple of coats of clearacrylic spray.

    2. Cut one loor from illustration board and one rom flooring. Cut one wall from illustration board and onefrom brick paper. You will also use he top pattern o cut your background icture, so don't get rid of it yet.

    3. Transfer he door and window patterns o your wall piece.4. Hold the id of the candy in at a 90 angle, and check he height of your door. You may need o raise or

    lower the door or the window a bit so t lines up with YOUR tin.5. Glue flooring to bottom piece, and brick paper o the top piece with YES glue. When hey are dry, trim ex-

    cess paper,6. Cut 2 pieces of foam core, about %" wide by the width of your wall. These will be the spacers ehind he

    wall. One needs o be painted o look like a sidewalk or street, since t can be seen hrough he door and hewindow. The other spacer goes behind he top of the wall. You may need o adjust he size of these spacersto fit YOUR tin. These spacers will hold the wall away rom the background icture, and give some per-
