7-Night Mediterranean Landing by tender, take a short drive along the coastline, allowing you to admire the Riviera, the hills, the fields, the villages. From Giarre you will start motoring up the slopes of Mt. Etna, the largest volcano in Europe, 3.3 meters high. You will be driven through small villages, such as Santa Venerina and Zafferana, and among the fertile fields on the side of the mountain are vineyards, orchards, chestnuts, hazelnuts covering the mountain. A short stop in Zafferana will be made to visit the main church, the Duomo Cathedral. Here you can see a beautiful painting of the Virgin Mary and the bronze portal. Next you will take a short detour to see the old lava flow, where you will see the remnants of the past eruptions. Next visit the Silvestre spent craters; you will be able to walk along the brim of these craters and imagine how it was with the hot lava boiling in the bottom of this gigantic cauldron. Finally, visit a local winery for wine tasting accompanied by a Sicilian lunch.
