June 30th 2015 COMMUNITY FREE CHURCH WEEKLY Each of the movements in Hebrews 11 is marked by the phrase “by faith.” What we learn as we read each verse weekly, is that the people of God live by faith at every turn. What we notice is the events don’t always appear to bless them, but they, by faith, serve as a blessing in God’s bigger plan. Likewise, you are a “blessing” in His greater purposes. Read Hebrews 11:29 - “By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned.” Through faith the reality of what we face becomes different. It is not just faith that saves, but the object of our faith that saves us: Jesus Christ. Therefore, it is by Jesus Christ that we cross over the unknown, whether it is frustrations with kids, our marriages, cancer, kidney stones, or the fear of death to dry land. Whats Happening This Week at Your Church?

    Pastor Jason

First, I want to thank every one of you that loved, supported, prayed, cooked, got up in the middle of the night to sit with our kids, and dropped off goodies at our home. We felt beyond blessed and your encouragement made all the difference. While I was laying in the hospital I was reminded that Jesus often brings us hope through the help of His people.

Today I had an appointment with the surgeon to schedule the next procedure. I have a pre-op physical appointment at Carle Hospital Tuesday, June 30th, at 2:45pm.Surgery to remove the first stent and the kidney stone is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th at Carle Hospital. The exact time is to be determined the day before the surgery date.

The recovery after the surgery is roughly 24-48 hours. After the surgery they will put in another stent, and that will stay in an additional 6 days and is easily removed without surgery.

Bill Allison, our missionary of the month, is here this weekend, July 5th, at 10:45am to share with us. Tasha, the kids, and I are going to use this time to get away as a family and just sit poolside some where (far from any hospitals).

Blessed by each and every one of you. I can feel your prayers!

  • Over the next 12 issues of this newsletter we will celebrate Summer by looking at parts and pieces of the EFCA Statement of Faith. The goal is to ask the question: Do we know what we believe?

God We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing ina loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Havinglimitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeema people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.

and eternally existing God is Omnipresent, meaning Forever Present.

The word eternal means "everlasting, having no beginning and no end." Since humans measure everything in time, it is very hard for us to conceive of something that always has been, has always been, and will continue forever.

However, the Bible does not try to prove Gods existence or His eternality, but simply begins with the statement In the beginning God indicating that at the beginning of recorded time, God was already in existence. From duration stretching backward without limit to duration stretching forward without limit, from eternal ages to eternal ages, God has been and always shall be.

Psalm 33:11The counsel of the Lord stands forever the plans of his heart to all generations.

Psalm 102:25-27Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 26They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end.

in a loving unityJohn 3:35The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

1 John 4:8,16 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love; So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him

Love is not just a virtue of God. Love is God Himself. This is the same for every attribute of God. God does not just embody these attributes, He defines them.

of three equally divine PersonsThe three here is the Biblical doctrine of the Trinity.

The word "person" is used to describe the three members of the Godhead because the word "person" is appropriate. A person is self-aware, can speak, love, hate, say "you," "yours," "me," "mine," etc. Each of the three persons in the Trinity demonstrates these qualities.

The Father is not the same person as the Son; the Son is not the same person as the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit is not the same person as the Father. They are not three gods and not three beings. They are three distinct persons; yet, they are all the one God. Each has a will, can speak, can love, etc. These are demonstrations of personhood.

They are in absolute perfect harmony consisting of one substance. They are coeternal, coequal, and co-powerful - Equal in power, Submissive in duties, and Distinct in personality. If any one of the three were removed, there would be no God.
