Course Format and DescriptionThe 32nd Annual Contemporary Clinical Neurology Symposium, offered by the Vanderbilt Department of Neurology, is designed to provide practicing neurologists with new and current ideas for patient management. Each day is built around a specific clinical area presented by Vanderbilt physicians and distinguished visiting faculty. Opportunities for audience participation will be provided through interactive sessions and group discussion. This live symposium will offer the kind of peer-to-peer interaction that has been shown to be invaluable in physician learning.
Statement of Educational NeedThe need for education in the areas of stroke, headache, neuro-ophthalmology,
epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, and neu-roimmunology is significant. Each of these areas has seen rapid advancement in better understanding of diagnosis, pathogenesis, and treatment. Additionally, healthcare re-form coding, and reimbursement for physi-cian services is likely to evolve significantly under the new federal administration.
Purpose and Target AudienceThe goal of this CME program is to improve the performance of participants from cur-rent practice to best practice through educa-tion paralleling the most up-to-date practice guidelines in the areas of stroke, headache, neuro-opthamology, epilepsy, neuromuscu-lar disease, and neuroimmunology.
This program is intended for all office and hospital based neurologists. Participants are typically in practice in the eastern half of the United States.
