4 February 1973 First Chingay Parade held in Singapore

1977 “All Chinese” parade became multi-cultural

1985 Marched down Orchard Road for the 1st time

1987Implemented “International flavor” with Japanese floats sponsored by The Straits Times

1990 Evolved into evening-to-night Parade

2000 Held in Civic District entering City Hall

2004 Moved back to Orchard Road

2008 Moved back to City Hall

2009 Centralized around the Parliament House

2010 Held on Formula One Track

- Have a performance which incorporates all different cultures instead of having them perform one after another

- Improvement on audio
