1 ApplicationThe Fluke 568 EX is an infrared and contact thermometer designed for industrial use in potentially explosive areas of Zones 2 and 1 in accordance with Directive 1999/92/EC respectively 2014/34/EU (ATEX).

2 Safety instructionsThese safety instructions contain information and safety regulations that must be followed to ensure safe and reliable operation of the unit under the described conditions. Failure to follow the information and instructions can have dangerous consequences or may contravene applicable regulations.

Please take the time to carefully read through these instructions before you start using the unit.

In the event of any doubt or discrepancies (for example, due to translation or print-ing errors), the English version of these safety instructions shall prevail.

3 Errors and load restrictions If there is any risk that the safety or integrity of the unit has been compromised, the unit must be taken out of operation immediately and removed from the Ex-area without delay. Action must be taken to prevent the device from being accidentally placed into operation again.We recommend sending the unit to the manufacturer to be examined.

The safety and reliability of the unit may be at risk if, for example:• Damage is visible on the housing• The unit has been subjected to excessive loads for which it is not designed• The unit has been improperly stored• The unit has been damaged in transit• Labels or markings on the unit are illegible• Malfunctions occur• Obvious measuring inaccuracies occur• No more measurements are possible with the device• Permitted tolerances or threshold values have been exceeded

4 Safety regulationsPersons using the unit must observe the standard safety regulations and read the certificate to prevent incorrect operation or misuse of the unit.

The following additional safety regulations must also be observed:• The unit must not be opened within the Ex-area.• The batteries must only be changed outside the Ex-area.• Additional or spare batteries must not be carried in the Ex-area.• Only type-approved battery types may be used.• In potentially explosive areas, the device may only be operated in its red

holster. • Only use leather grip LH568 with the device.• Only accessories approved by ecom instruments GmbH may be used.• Do not use the Product in damp or wet environments.• Avoid using the unit in aggressive acidic or alkaline solutions.• Ensure that the unit is not taken into Zone 0 areas.

4.1 Special conditions for measurements into Zone 01. It is allowed to take non-contact measurements into zone 0 (measure-

ments through glass or similar materials will affect the IR measurement accuracy!).

2. The Fluke 568 EX temperature measuring device itself must not be brought into zone 0.

3. Absolutely ensure that the device cannot fall into zone 0, even by mistake.

7 Operating informationFor your own safety and information please take the time to carefully read through these safety instructions to ensure that you are familiar with and can use all the functions on your Fluke 568 EX. For information how to handle the device please read also through the separate operating manual.

7.1 Battery replacementIf the batteries are discharged and only a reserve operating time remains, the battery symbol on the display changes (for detailed information please see the maintenance section in the separate operating manual). The batteries should be replaced afterwards in order to ensure safe operation.It is advisable to change all 2 batteries at the same time.

The batteries must only be changed outside the ex-area. Only the appropriate, approved types of batteries may be used (refer to the table 1 with details of the type-tested batteries under point 6: Technical data).

Please follow additional instructions:• Remove all probes, test leads and accessories before the battery door is

opened.• Do not disassemble the batteries.• Weak batteries should be replaced immediately.• If any spilled electrolyte is noticed while changing the batteries do not take

the unit back into the Ex-area but send it to the manufacturer for inspection.• Remove batteries to prevent battery leakage and damage to the Product if

it is not used for an extended period.• Be sure that the battery polarity is correct to prevent battery leakage.• Do not short the battery terminals together.• Do not disassemble or crush battery cells and battery packs.• Do not keep cells or batteries in a container where the terminals can be

shorted.• Do not put battery cells and battery packs near heat or fire. Do not put in

sunlight.

��Note: The batteries should be replaced in less than one minute after removal to avoid manually re-initializing the thermometer clock and date.

To install or change the two AAA batteries (see Figure 10):1. Remove leather grip LH5682. Slide the locking tab on the battery door to the “unlock” position and then

open the handle.3. Insert the batteries noting their correct polarity. 4. Close and lock the handle.5. Put the leather grip back over the battery door.

8 MaintenanceWarningTo prevent electrical shock or personal injury, have the Product repaired by ecom instruments GmbH or an ecom authorized service center to keep Prod-uct certification.

9 Cleaning, maintenance and storage• Only use a suitable cloth or sponge to clean the unit. Do not use solvents or

abrasive cleaning agents, particularly the lens, for cleaning.• We recommend having the function and the accuracy of the device che-

cked by the manufacturer every two years.• The batteries should be taken out of the unit if it is to be stored for extended

periods.• The storage temperature should be within the permitted range of -20 °C to

+60 °C (without batteries).• It should be observed that the electrical performance of specific types of Zinc-Manganese Dioxide (Zn/MnO2) batteries are limited to ambient tempera-tures below the product specified ambient temperature range. The datas-heets for the specific manufacturer and type of battery used should be con-sulted to see what the recommended ambient temperature range of use is to achieve maximum battery performance.

Cleaning the lens:Blow off loose particles with clean air. Remaining contamination is then removed carefully with a soft brush. Wipe the surface carefully with a moist swab. The swab can be moistened with water.

1 AplicaçãoO Fluke 568 EX é um termómetro de infravermelhos e contacto concebido para utilização industrial em áreas potencialmente explosivas das zonas 2 e 1, de acor-do com a diretiva 1999/92/CE ou 2014/34/EU CE (ATEX) e segurança Inmetro.

2 Instruções de segurançaEstas instruções de utilização contêm informações e regras de segurança que é necessário seguir para garantir uma utilização segura e fiável do aparelho nas condições descritas. O não seguimento das informações e instruções pode resul-tar em consequências perigosas ou pode infringir as regras aplicáveis.

Leia cuidadosamente o manual de instruções antes de começar a utilizar o aparelho.

No caso de dúvida ou discrepâncias (por exemplo, devido a erros de tradução ou impressão), prevalece a versão inglesa deste manual de instruções.

3 Erros e restrições de cargaSe existir qualquer risco de a segurança ou integridade do aparelho ficar compro-metida, o aparelho deve ser colocado imediatamente fora de serviço e retirado imediatamente da área Ex.

Devem ser tomadas medidas para impedir que o dispositivo volte a ser colocado acidentalmente em serviço.

Recomendamos que o aparelho seja enviado para o fabricante para ser alvo de análise.

A segurança e a fiabilidade do aparelho podem estar em risco se, por exemplo:• Existirem danos visíveis no alojamento• O aparelho tiver sido sujeito a cargas excessivas para as quais não foi

concebido• O aparelho tiver sido armazenado de forma incorreta• O aparelho tiver sido danificado durante o transporte• As etiquetas ou marcações no aparelho estiverem ilegíveis• Ocorrerem avarias• Ocorrerem imprecisões de medição óbvias• Não serem possíveis mais medições com o dispositivo• As tolerâncias permitidas ou os valores limite tiverem sido excedidos

4 Regulamentações de segurançaAs pessoas que utilizam o aparelho devem respeitar as regras de segurança padrão e ler o certificado para impedir utilizações incorretas ou impróprias do aparelho.

Também devem ser respeitadas as seguintes regras de segurança:• O aparelho não pode ser aberto dentro da área Ex.• As pilhas só podem ser trocadas fora da área Ex.• Não devem ser transportadas pilhas adicionais ou de reserva na área Ex.• Só podem ser usados tipos de pilhas aprovados.• Em áreas potencialmente explosivas, o dispositivo só pode ser utilizado no

estojo vermelho. • Use apenas a pega em couro LH568 com o dispositivo.• Apenas podem ser utilizados acessórios aprovados pela ecom instruments

GmbH.• Não use o produto em ambientes húmidos ou molhados.• Evite usar o aparelho em soluções ácidas ou alcalinas agressivas.• Assegure-se de que o aparelho não é levado para as áreas de Zona 0.

4.1 Condições especiais para medições na zona 01. É permitido fazer medições sem contacto na zona 0 (as medições através

de vidro ou materiais similares afetam a precisão da medição por!).2. O dispositivo de medição da temperatura Fluke 568 EX propriamente dito

não pode ser colocado na zona 0.3. Garanta absolutamente que o dispositivo não entra na zona 0, nem mes-

mo por engano.

7 Informações de utilizaçãoPara sua própria segurança e informação, leia atentamente estas instruções de segurança para se familiarizar e poder usar todas as funções do seu Fluke 568 EX. Para informações sobre como manusear o aparelho, leia também atentamente o manual de instruções em separado.

7.1 Substituição das pilhasSe as pilhas estiverem sem carga e restar apenas uma autonomia de reserva, o símbolo de pilha no visor muda (para informações detalhadas, consulte a secção de manutenção no manual de instruções em separado). As pilhas de-vem ser substituídas posteriormente para garantir um funcionamento seguro.É aconselhável mudar as duas pilhas ao mesmo tempo.

As pilhas só podem ser trocadas fora da área Ex. Só podem ser usados tipos de pilhas indicados e aprovados (consulte a tabela 1 com detalhes das pilhas de tipo testado no ponto 6: Dados técnicos).

Siga as instruções adicionais:• Remova todas as sondas, fios de teste e acessórios antes da abertura do

compartimento das pilhas.• Não desmonte as pilhas.• As pilhas fracas devem ser substituídas imediatamente.• Se for detetado eletrólito derramado ao mudar as pilhas, não volte a levar o

aparelho para a área Ex, envie-o antes para o fabricante para inspeção.• Remova as pilhas para evitar fugas e danos no produto se este não for

usado durante longos períodos de tempo.• Certifique-se de que a polaridade das pilhas é a correta para evitar fugas.• Não coloque os terminais das pilhas em curto-circuito.• Não desmonte nem esmague as células e os conjuntos das pilhas.• Não guarde as células ou as pilhas num recipiente em que os terminais

possam entrar em curtocircuito.• Não exponha as células e os conjuntos das pilhas ao calor ou ao fogo.

Não exponha à luz solar.

Nota: As pilhas devem ser substituídas em menos de um minuto depois da re-moção para evitar a reinicialização manual da hora e da data do termómetro.

Para instalar ou mudar as duas pilhas AAA (ver fig. 10):1. Remove a pega em couro LH5682. Faça deslizar a patilha de fecho no compartimento das pilhas para a posição

de de sbloqueado e abra a pega.3. Insira as pilhas atendendo à polaridade. 4. Feche e bloqueie a pega.5. Volte a colocar a pega em couro sobre o compartimento das pilhas.

8 ManutençãoAvisoPara evitar choques elétricos ou ferimentos, mande reparar o produto na ecom Instruments GmbH ou em algum centro de serviço ecom autorizado para manter a certificação do produto.

9 Limpeza, manutenção e armazenamento• Utilize apenas um pano ou esponja adequada para limpar o aparelho. Não

utilize solventes ou produtos de limpeza abrasivos para limpar, especial-mente a lente.

• Recomendamos que o aparelho seja verificado pelo fabricante de dois em dois anos.

• As pilhas devem ser retiradas do aparelho caso este vá ser guardado du-rante longos períodos de tempo.

• A temperatura de armazenamento deve estar dentro do intervalo permitido entre -20 °C e +60 °C (sem pilhas).

• Es necesario asegurarse de que el rendimiento eléctrico de las baterías de tipos específicos de zinc-dióxido de manganeso (Zn/MnO2) se limite a tem-peraturas ambiente inferiores al rango de temperaturas ambiente especifi-cadas para el producto. Consulte las fichas técnicas del fabricante específi-co y del tipo de baterías utilizado para ver cuál es el rango de uso de temperaturas ambiente recomendado para lograr el rendimiento máximo de las baterías.

Limpar a lente:Expulse as partículas soltas com ar limpo. A contaminação restante é depois cuidadosamente removida com uma escova macia. Limpe a superfície cuida-dosamente com um cotonete humedecido. O cotonete pode ser humedecido com água.
