GENERAL CONFERENCE INFORMATION
EVENT RULES: In all Principles of Business Administration, Individual Series and Team Decision Making events, no
pre-made materials will be allowed into events. Scrap paper will be provided. A basic, non-programmable calculator,
pen, or pencil only will be allowed into the testing for each event and for the role-play, interview, and case study events.
CELL PHONES: ARE NOT PERMITTED AT ANY TIME DURING ANY COMPETITIVE EVENT!
POSTING OF FINALISTS: Students should begin looking at the postings of finalists shown on the NJ DECA Conference
App, the television screens in the Crowne Plaza and posted in the lobby of the Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Hotel ML
beginning at 2PM. Finalists should immediately proceed to their events when posted.
VOTING DELEGATES: Don’t forget to attend the MEET THE CANDIDATES SESSION on Tuesday, March 11 or on
Friday March 14, in the Crowne Plaza Grand Ballroom A at 8:00 AM. Also, visit the State Officer Candidate campaign booths
in the hallway just outside the Grand Ballroom. Take your responsibility seriously as a voting delegate and get as much
information as you can gather about the candidates so you can decide who will best serve as your next NJ DECA State Officers.
WRITTEN MANUALS: Several written manual events allow for one or two team members. Only one trophy has been ordered
for those events. Second trophies will be ordered and paid for by NJ DECA if a second teammate represented the project at the
State Conference. If you need a second trophy, advisors should contact the NJ DECA State Office at 732 548-6000 x3023.
SHUTTLE INFORMATION
DECA SHUTTLE: The free NJ DECA shuttle buses will travel between the Crowne Plaza, the Holiday Inn and the Hotel ML.
The buses will not make any other stops at any other locations – no one will be dropped off or picked up any place other than the
designated conference hotels. The following is the bus schedule:

ENTERTAINMENT:
In this 90 min show, magician Max Major will use a combination of magic, psychology, hypnosis and suggestion to demonstrate the untapped powers of the mind. Amongst the show’s highlights, Major will employ his uncanny understanding of body language to decode the thoughts of audience members, as assume the role of a human lie detector, and even MORE!
DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS: Please be reminded of the dress code for Competitive Events, Testing and Awards Sessions.
You will not be permitted on the stage if you are not dressed properly.

******The deadline date for submitting the materials for registration for ICDC to NJ DECA is a package post-marked by March 22, 2013.
However, drops and adds must be determined quickly. By March 8th
it is the chapter advisor’s responsibility to contact the NJ DECA office
to indicate which students will or will not compete at the conference. If there is no communication with the NJ DECA office via mail, fax or
e-mail by March 8th
, it will be assumed that the chapter advisor and students are not attending the conference and that the students have given

up their spaces to compete at ICDC to the next eligible competitors. Regarding students who quality to compete in two events, the decision as
to which event they choose to compete in at ICDC must be made by March 6th
in an email to the state advisor so that the next competitor can
be moved into the vacant slot. If it is not done by this deadline, the state advisor will place the student in the manual event and offer the other
event slot to the next student in line.
