Our group is recognized as being experts in complex property valuation matters and regularly performs assignments involving property, portfolio, partnership, fee simple, leased fee and leasehold interests along with market rent determinations.
The advisory and consulting practice provides market research and analysis, market and financial feasibility studies, investment counseling, counseling for development, acquisition, sale, leasing and financing along with expert witness testimony and litigation support for all types of real estate.
Our team has more valuation professionals with the MAI designation awarded by the Appraisal Institute than any other independent commercial real estate firm on the West Coast. Five hold the prestigious Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) designation. Members of the group are also active with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and hold the FRICS and MRICS designations.
Valuation Advisory Services specializes in all property types including investment-grade real estate, office, retail, industrial, apartments, condominiums, hotels and resorts, mixed-use properties, low income tax credit properties, health care, golf courses, marinas, athletic clubs, parking garages, service stations, truck stops, agricultural land, mining properties, restaurants, branch banks,
high value single-family residences and estates, residential subdivisions and undeveloped vacant land.
Appraisal engagements have entailed analysis of full or partial fee simple, leased fee and leasehold interests in existing and proposed properties. All appraisals conform to Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) guidelines as set forth by the Appraisal Foundation and, when appropriate, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Peter has been a real estate appraiser since 1980 and during that time has amassed a widely diverse portfolio of experience in the appraisal industry. He served his apprenticeship in the Puget Sound region and then was promoted to Manager of Shorett & Riely’s office in San Jose, California. He has concentrated on real estate valuation issues for properties located in the Puget Sound and Pacific Coast regions since returning to the Pacific Northwest in 1990.

Andy has been a real estate appraiser since 1990. Specialties include retail, industrial, office, medical office, marina, athletic club, and vacant land. Retail experience ranges from single tenant net leased properties to enclosed malls. National retailers like Target, Lowes, Kohl’s and Costco have engaged him for tax appeal valuations. Andy is frequently called upon for fair market rent determinations for improved properties and ground leases. He has experience with partial interests, air rights, land use agreements and condemnation.

Gary has been involved with economic analysis of real estate since 1969 and since 1982 in real estate appraisal. Since 1989, he has specialized in multifamily residential complexes. Multifamily appraisal assignments include vacant land, proposed complexes, and existing apartments ranging in size from less than 10 to 750 units, tax credit projects, senior independent living facilities, and condominiums.
