1st Redirect: Warning, turn card to yellow
2nd Offense: Teacher Conference, move card to orange…lose the next recess or privilege
3rd Offense: Move card to red, parent conference
The “Severe” Clause: Referral to the Principal and possible suspension from school
Behavior Incentives
For the Individual: Eagle feathers for weekly lottery to win “Slippers and Snacks” on Friday, praise, special privileges
For the Group: Desk Olympic Table Points monthly contest; whole group marble jar

MONDAY – THURSDAY approx. 1 hr. / nightIf necessary, we can meet to discuss your child’s work
habits, special needs, or modifications. All assignments are on classroom website AND in
reminder binders. Subjects:
Read nightly 20+ min. Write a brief summary, plus answer one menu question relating to your reading
Vocabulary assignments and practice nightly Math nightly from either textbook (it’s online), practice
book, or worksheet, plus mastering math facts “X” tables!
Occasional other assignments in science or social studies
Occasional projects Incomplete daily class work goes home for completion

ABSENCES
Please… Excuse your child by calling the office, or
send a note explaining the reason
Assignment make-ups are 1 extra day for each day absent…we “try” to do make-ups in class
Absences for 5 days or longer must be reported to the office a week or several days in advance so that a student Independent Study contract can be created and explained to you and your child prior to your departure
Your student’s attendance is CRITICAL for school funding…please, please save family getaways for vacation time
Parent Volunteers! Hooray!
WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT YOU?
Regular classroom volunteer sign-ups are on outside counter and available for every day of the week: prep, correcting, and more
Special jobs such as Room Mom, Scholastic Books ordering, Minute Math correctors, Meet the Masters, and more are there, too
Must have current TB test on file along with a Megan’s Law clearance and you’re good to go!
