First animation:
Make 1.00 L of a 1.00 M solution of NaCL
1. Select the 1 L volumetric flask because you want exactly 1 L of solution2. Click on the "tare button" to zero the balance w the flask on it.3. We need one mole of NaCl. 1 mol NaCl = 58.44 g NaCl
In order to make 1.00 L of solution we will need to figure like this:
4. Next we add enough water to fill 1/2 of the flask, and mix the solution until all NaCl dissolves.
5. Pour enough water to come up close to the line, and add the rest of the water with a dropper until the bottom of the meniscus is barely touching the line.
1.00 mol 1 x 58.44 g NaCl
1 mol NaCl = 58.44 g NaCl
So, we weigh out 58.44 g NaCl by pouring it into the emply flask
Homework on making molar solutions using this animation http://www.mhhe.com/physsci/chemistry/animations/chang_7e_esp/crm3s1_2.swf
For the other two animations, do exactly as you saw written on the prior page. Now you will need to make these 2 solutions using the animation:
2nd Animation Make 500.0 mL of a 0.0250 M solutions of K2Cr2O7 solution.
3rd AnimationMake 100.0 mL of a 0.125 M solution of KMnO4 solution.
