The Transportation Camp DC 2018 Conference brings together transportation professionals, technologists, and others interested in the intersection of urban transportation and technology.Recent advances in technology--mobile computing, open source software, open data and Apes, and spatial analysis--present an opportunity to improve mobility more immediately and at alower cost than has ever been possible in the past. Transportation Camp raises awareness of
this opportunity and builds connections between disparate innovators in public administration, transportation operations, information design, and software engineering. The session topicsand activities are suggested by the attendees. In addition to talks and presentations from bignames in transportation and technology, major themes reflect the backgrounds and interests ofthe participants. Sessions willinclude technology, policy issues, urban planning, and more
The theme for the 2018 World Bank Group's Transforming Transportation Conference is"Sustainable Mobility in the Digital Era." The forum willfocus on how new technologies, ideas, and business models in the transport sector can ensure access to high-quality transport;improve systems efficiency; dramatically reduce injuries and fatalities from road-trafficaccidents; and lower the environmentalfootprint of the sector.
