The ROSARY …and the Miracle of the Sun…This coming week, on Friday, October 13th, we celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the Fatima Miracle of the Sun. On that date, 70,000 PEOPLE witnessed a vision of the sun dancing in the sky. In addition, the muddy, soupy earth beneath their feet turned bone dry. Our Lady had promised a miracle for those who did not believe…the children were telling the truth of what they had seen and been told in the apparitions. Mary said, “I am the Lady of the Rosary. I have come to warn the faithful to amend their lives and ask for pardon for their sins. They must not offend Our Lord anymore, for He is too grievously offended by the sins of man. People must say the Rosary.” Saint John Paul II said, “Fatima is more important now than in 1917.” He recognized how many people…how many Christians…have gone in the opposite direction to the one indicated in the message of Fatima. He said Our Lady came to Fatima to warn us that great evil would come upon the world if people did not lead good lives and offer reparation for the sins of man. On your computer, reread the message of Mary from the July, 1917 Fatima Apparition…it’s very compelling.Pray the Rosary for Peace.
Remember, you and your family are always invited to take part in our weekly Rosary for Peace, every Saturday, at 4:35 p.m., just before Mass.
Adoration will close at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, so that all may enjoy the celebration of the Charismatic Catholic Renewal Mass and Saint Pio of Pietrelcina Relic display.
FAITH FORMATIONChosen: Conirmation – Classes for students Grades 8 through high school meet in Johnson Hall each Sunday, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Each of us is Chosen by God; Chosen for lives of greater Holiness. Come and see that there is always more to learn about living our faith.
Summit High School Youth Ministry – Join us and forge bonds of friendship as we grow closer to the Lord. This week, we will look at how strong friendships can bring us closer to God and examine the example of Saint John Paul II, who was similarly formed in his faith by strong, faithful friends. All are welcome to join us! Summit meets each Sunday, after the 5:00 p.m. Mass for faith-building, music, games, and food. All are encouraged to join in!
Our Elevate Junior High Youth Ministry Program will begin meeting at our new time, 3:00-4:30 p.m. on Sundays, before the 5:00 p.m. Mass. This week, we are examining our “Relationship Status” with God – are we committed to God, searching for Him, open to inding a real relationship with Him? Come meet new friends, have a good time, and deepen your understanding of our faith.
See Ed Watson for more details.

The immigration forum is a community project primarily organized by a Granville group called Strong Voices Rising. Jerry Freewalt, Diocese Ofice of Social Concerns, immigrants from our community, and others familiar with the topic of immigration will lead a panel discussion and answer questions.
