Students walk around in a circle.
Teacher shouts different emotions and students act as though theyare feeling that emotion.
Eg. Teacher shouts happy and students walk in a circle as
though they are happy.

Present lexical set using gestures and stories.
Concept check using pictures.Drill vocabulary individually and chorally.
Create a board record- mark stress on difficult words.

Students work in pairs.
Each pair is given the crossword to complete.Feedback to check answers are correct.

Class is split in half.
Half of the class is given a flashcard with a character descriptionof a person with the name blanked out. Eg. _____ is a quiet
Half the class is given a flashcard with a name and an emotion
(taken from lexical set). Eg. Bob is shy.Students mingle and ask each other questions in order to match
the two corresponding flashcards.
Feedback to check understanding and that answers are correct.

problems that arise.
Speaking
activity:Ball-

Students and teacher stand in a circle.
Teacher says an adjective from the lexical set (Lessons 3 and 4).Teacher then throws the ball to another student who says the
corresponding comparative. Student then throws the ball toanother student who says the corresponding superlative. Studentthen throws to another student who says a new adjective.
If a student drops the ball or can not say the correct word within a
short time limit the student must play on one knee, then two knees
until he or she says a correct answer.
Nb. Teacher judges the ability of class as to whether they can
think of their own adjectives or if the ball has to be thrown backto the teacher after every superlative.

activity
Students pick a flashcard from a hat with the name of a target
adjective (from Lesson 4) written on it.Students work in pairs and discuss when and why they felt
confident/lazy/shy etc.Class feedback- open pairs activity to model answers and
vocabulary usage.
