Social Studies Science Social Studies Science Focus: Ancient Egypt Watch: Ancient Egypt And How Egyptians Invented the Alphabet Option 1: Complete this Nearpod activity on Egyptian Heiroglyphs Option 2: Invent a new symbol for each of the letters of the alphabet. Make a key that shows what each new letter is. ex: A = ♥ B = ☺ Write the names of your family members and see if they can read them! Let them use the key to help read what you wrote.
Focus: Food Chains Watch: Up the Food Chain Top of the Food Chain Option 1: Download Food chains.pptx. Complete the activities on each page. Option 2: On a piece of paper, illustrate and label three food chains (producer, consumer, decomposer).
Focus: Ancient Egypt Watch: Mummification Option 1: Complete this Nearpod on Egyptian Mummification Option 2: Download the Apple Mummification Experiment and follow the steps. (You’ll start it today and check your results next week.)
Focus: Food Chains Watch: What if all the bees in the world disappeared? Option 1: Play Food Chain Reaction Game Option 2: Think about a food chain and remove one part. On a piece of paper, explain what happens to the other parts of the food chain.

Reflection Center: What challenges did you face when building your treehouse? Did you haveto change plans from yourblueprint? What materials worked best?
To the Treehouse!Challenge: You have received an unlimited budget to build your dream treehouse. What would your tree house look like?What special features would you include to make it your own?
Building Background: Before construction can start, builders must create a blueprint. Blueprints are designs or drawings of what an object or building will look like before it is built. It is a detailed plan that communicates ideas, shows measurements, and makes the design easy to understand. Engineers, architects and construction workers all use blueprints in their work!
Design: Use Wixie OR pencil and paper to draw the blueprint of your treehouse. Be sure to label it! Your treehouse It must be off the groundand stand on its own. Don’t forget how you will get up into the treehouse andget down.
