Home Reading Tips and Tricks It’s important to stop and ask questions as your child is reading to check and build their understanding of what they read. Before
Reading Questions: What do you think the story will be about? Why? What do you already know about that topic? During Reading
Questions: What is the problem of the story? What do you think will happen next? After Reading Questions: What was the story
about? How was the story problem solved? Would you recommend this book?
Learning Goals
Language Arts has focused on how to pick good fit books and what reading and writing will look like in our class room. Students have been learning how to be a powerful speaker when they share and a respectful listener. We are practicing our neat printing and including capitals, periods and spaces in our sentences. In Math students continue to focus on basic addition and subtraction. In Science students have learned about the scientific process and are continuing our Plants and Animals Life Cycles unit. In Social Studies we are learning about cultural diversity and building on our mapping skills to understand where in the world we are.
Parent- Teacher Interviews
Parent Teacher Interviews will be Monday, October 19th and Tuesday, October 20th. As per CESD
guidelines, interview’s will be conducted via google meet. More information will be sent home
