Spring Concert: All students K-5 will be performing in the annual spring concert on Tuesday, April 19th at 6:30pm at Wausau West HS. Our theme is “Better Together,” focusing on how when we work together as friends, we can make the world a better place. More information and song lyrics are being sent home this week. Please see Ms. Mackey’s website for the lyrics and sing-along recordings to practice at home!

Honor Choir: A select number of GD Jones students in 4th and 5th grade have been nominated to participate in the Wausau Area Children’s Choir Festival with students from Wausau, Newman Catholic Schools, and DC Everest. These students will be receiving more information and practice materials in the coming weeks. The festival performance is open to the community and will be held at the Grand Theater on Tuesday, April 12, at 5pm. Kindergarten Instruments: Our three kindergarten classes have been learning about percussion instruments in class. So far we have played hand drums, wood blocks, guiros, rhythm sticks, and triangles. Kindergarten families – ask your student how they play these exciting instruments!

be celebrating with

St.Patrick’s Day

themed activities. We

are in need of parent

volunteers to help

with various activities during this

celebration. We are also in need of a few

supplies to make a tasty treat during one of

the stations. If you are interested in

volunteering or providing supplies, please

contact one of our PBIS coaches: Anne

Young (1st grade teacher,

[email protected]) or Devanne

Skalitzky (5th grade teacher,

Parent Participant

We are in need of a parent to join our PBIS

Universal team. We need your perspective seen

and heard by the team to best represent our

families and the impact

of PBIS. Your voice will help us design and

implement PBIS procedures and events. This is a great way to

become involved in a positive behavior group

that is always looking for the most efficient and effective way to

reach our students. If you are interested in

learning more, please contact Anne Young or Devanne Salitzky, our

coaches for the Universal Team. We

would really appreciate

your time and participation!!!

Lovin' the Library! March 4, 2016

March is a super busy month in the library!

We start out with an amazing celebration!!

Students have been experiencing all-things

“Seussical,” either in the library or in their

classroom, from reading Dr. Seuss’ most recent book What Pet Should I Get to

watching on YouTube one of Seuss’ more animated characters from the 1950s, Gerald

McBoing Boing — one of this librarian’s absolute favorites! The YouTube video can be

found on the library main page.
