SCRIP PROGRAM
Thank you to our shul members who have either re-cently started to participate in the Scrip program or
who have continued their involvement. I am happy to report that between July 1 and August 31, our shul has raised $1408! I sold the most number of supermarket
gift cards in August since I started running this pro-gram last summer, and most people didn't even start
their holiday food shopping yet! Ten new families have started to buy supermarket gift cards starting in July, and two new families enrolled in shopwithscrip.com
to make purchases from their favorite retailers. I look forward to hearing from many of you when you want
to start shopping for the chagim :)

Soon, our children & grandchildren will be gathered under our giant tallit for
KOL HANIARIM. Join in the YI legacy – include your chil-
dren/grandchildren’s names for this year. The cost is $108 per name. Include three
names and the third name is ½ off. All the work is done by community volun-teers so 100% of the proceeds benefit the Shul. The children love looking for and
finding their name as they all congregate under the Tallit .

September 18, 2014 Dear Members: As we come to the start of another year, we have much to be thankful for, much to reflect on and much to pray for in the year to come. It is a time for many of us, to really fo-cus on our davening and be opened to new inspiration. Rabbi Weinberg and the ritual committee have worked hard on the choosing and guiding of this year’s Chazzanim to maximize our Yomin Noraim experience. We must do our part as well. Proper decorum in the building in general; specifically in the sanctuary is essential to setting a proper tone for everyone’s benefit. Social conversation should be outside the sanctuary and as our seating is very tight this year, please be considerate of those around you as you come and go. With respect for the “place” all snacks and drinks other than wa-ter should be eaten downstairs. With respect for our Rabbi, we ask that the doors remain closed, with no entry into the sanctuary during his sermons. For both safety and decorum, there will be a supervised play area downstairs for children with defined guidelines for when and where kids should be. In the past few years, this has made a significant difference in the upstairs atmosphere thanks in large part to the efforts of Juanita Moss. Our space limits do not really allow for independent groups of children, so the guidelines will once again be, that all children are either downstairs un-der the care of the hired babysitters, upstairs sitting with a parent , or elsewhere with di-rect supervision of a parent or designated adult. (Please be sure your children-or any guests with children-are aware of the system). Lastly, babysitters and the ECE teacher hired this year are not policeman. It is the parent or grandparents responsibility to guar-antee that their child is behaving appropriately and is in a safe supervised location. In order to prepare appropriately, we need to have a realistic head count of the num-ber and ages of kids, so we can be suitably staffed. All parents (and grandparents where appropriate), should have included this information with their seat reservations. If you did not do so, please be in touch with Juanita by phone or email as soon as possible. Pay-ment ($35 for 1-2children, $55 for more) can be sent directly to the shul with a notation for babysitting. The fee being asked, covers the costs of childcare, equipment and snacks. We look forward to a joyful and meaningful holiday season. Shana Tova Sincerely, Debra Luger & Stuart Kesler The Board of YIWH
