1. Food Safety Supervisor Certificate with Gail O’Dwyer.

Registered food businesses require a Food Safety Supervisor. This is a one day course which requires the completion of the units SITXFSA002 Participate in safe food handling practices and SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety. Also included is a non-accredited unit “Read and respond to simple workplace information”. Dates: Fri 8th Oct, Wed 3rd Nov or Wed 8th Dec Time: 9.00am - 5.30pm Fee: $220 Subsidies are available for eligible students.

3. RSA - SITHFAB002 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol with Gail O’Dwyer.

The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) unit aims to provide liquor service staff with the knowledge and awareness necessary to responsibly serve alcohol in licensed premises. Also included in this course are non-accredited units “Participate in simple spoken interactions at work” and “Read and respond to simple workplace information”. Date: Fri 1st Oct, Thurs 4th Nov, or Thurs 9th Dec Time: 9.00am - 4.00pm Fee: $200 Subsidies are available for eligible students.

4. NSW White Card - CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry with John Myers. This White Card course covers the Work Health and Safety Training required prior to commencing work tasks within any of the sectors of the construction industry. This unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements. Dates: Wed 13th Oct, 10th Nov, 8th Dec Time: 9.00am - 4.00pm Fee: $200 Subsidies are available for eligible students. 5. RCG - SITHGAM001 Provide Responsible Gambling

Services with Gail O’Dwyer Mandatory training for all staff members working in gaming areas of licensed premises or the hospitality industry, and can be completed in one day. Also included in this course are non-accredited units “Participate in simple spoken interactions at work”, “Write simple workplace information” and “Read and respond to simple workplace information”. 2. Barista - SITHFAB005 Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee with Gail O’Dwyer. Learn to make espresso coffee, store coffee and maintain commercial coffee machines. In this two day course you will complete SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety and SITHFAB005 Prepare and serve espresso coffee. Also included in this course are non-accredited units “Participate in simple spoken interactions at work” and “Read and respond to simple workplace information” This course runs for 2 consecutive days. Smart and Skilled Programs Murwillumbah Community College is an approved Smart and Skilled provider. In 2021, eligible students are entitled to enrol in subsidised Foundation Skills courses and qualifications up to and including Certificate IV. Smart and Skilled promotes quality training, introduces new fee arrangements and supports disadvantaged students. Various supports offered as needed; one to one tuition, small study groups; access to computer facilities, student counselling; family friendly class hours. Unique Student Identifier From January 1 2015 each person enrolled in any accredited training (short, part time or full time) requires a USI – Unique Student Identifier. Your USI will help keep your training records and results together in an online account controlled by you. This workshop will teach awareness and essential principals on how to stay secure when using the Internet. Basic computer knowledge is required. 9. Tech Savvy Seniors with Charlie Parratt. Learn how to use computers, smart phones and tablets. This training will help you access information on the internet and make contact with family and friends. It will cover the internet, emailing, cyber safety, online shopping and banking and social media & more. If you are 60 years or over and would like to learn how to become Tech confident and safely use today’s technology this course is for you.

This qualification reflects the role of workers in community and/or residential settings who provide person-centred support based on an individualised plan with people who are aging, or have a disability. Learn the basic fundamental skills required to create your own handmade leather project. Designed to give you a taste of what working with leather feels like, you’ll be pleasantly surprised just how rewarding it is to make your own leather item. Once you have learnt the basic skills in Leatherwork it’s just a matter of practice, practice, practice to enjoy this craft fully. Today those earlier embroidery and crochet stitches (that followed a set pattern) are used in new and modern ways in Art or Craft work. 32. NEW Basics of Basket Making with Bonita Shore

Learn traditional basket-weaving that lasts and doesn’t go out of shape. Start with the basics, and gradually learn new techniques.
