Three dimensional CT images, 3D surgical loops and 3D surgical movie Monday, March 5 | 12h00 - 13h00

On Monday, March 5, we organize a unique event for all EVC participants (12h00-13h00), which consists of three parts. In the last part we will present a 3D movie of a surgical procedure in a patient with severe occlusive disease of all supra-aortic arteries. The reconstruction consists of a graft from the ascending aorta to the innominate artery and two side branches to the left carotid and left subclavian arteries.

Prior to the movie we will demonstrate the 3D visualization of all vascular structures based on the preoperative CT scan of the patient. This technique allows planning of open and endovascular procedures in a hyperactive way.

Following, a new surgical thoracic model will be shown in which we will perform the same reconstruction as in the patient. The operation in this training model will be executed live on stage, using revolutionary surgical glasses in which two high definition cameras provide real-time 3D images on the screen.

The sequence of steps during this session demonstrates the ideal preparation for a complex procedure: 3D preoperative imaging and planning, procedure training in a real-life model using 3d surgical loops and performance of the operation in the patient. This 3D session will be presented in the main auditorium. At entrance, you will get 3D glasses to enjoy the beautiful dimensions of surgery.

Sizing and planning for EVAR A structured approach to sizing and planning for EVARTarget audience: Physicians with• Little or no experience with sizing & planning for EVAR• Interested in learning a structured approach to the sizing & planning and patient

selection process• refine their sizing and planning skills In this course, participants will be introduced in a practical, structured and interactive way into the assessment, measuring and subsequent planning for an EVAR procedure with the Endurant stent graft system. The principles of proper measuring, sizing and planning will be explained, demonstrated and discussed as a group. Objectives By the end of this course, participants shall be able to: • How to have a systematic and structured way of assessing the CT scan for every

potential EVAR patient. • Interpret the information from a CT scan into which anatomies are suitable for

EVAR • How to choose the appropriate stent graft components for an EVAR • The value of creating a robust primary and back up plan for your EVAR cases • How to create recommended treatment strategies depending on the measurements

The art of precisionAdvanced technology for treating varicose veinsThe advanced radiofrequency system for endoluminal ablationSpecial Guest: S SchulteAt the booth, we are going to present the PRECISION System for treating varicose veins. The generator and ProCurve V applicator of the Precision System allow highly accurate and customized varicose vein treatments. Using bipolar radiofrequency technology, the “Pulse RFITT” mode (radiofrequency induced thermotherapy), occludes veins gently and efficiently. The Precision System includes the following self-regulation features: During the entire ablation procedure, the system delivers only the power actually needed to occlude that particular vein being treated. In addition, the visual and audible feedback informs about the ablation progress. This allows the surgeon to match the rate of applicator withdrawal optimally to the specific characteristics of the target vein, thus achieving customized and precise ablation of the varicose vein.Monday, March 5 14h00 - 15h30 and 16h00 - 17h30 Training Suite 21Registrations at the Olympus booth
