Dr. Andrew Strickland, FPD’s Fine Arts Director and Theatre/Dance teacher, is available for private or small group lessons in the following areas:

Beginning Acting (4th - 6th grades) – The focus at this level will be the development of basic acting skills including vocal production and clarity, playing a character, stage movement, and line delivery. These lessons can work for individuals or small groups of 4 or less.

Intermediate Acting (6th - 8th grades) – Young performers who have already have some experience in theatre will learn more about monologue selection and preparation, character creation and performance, vocal training, and basic Stanislavski acting theory. This level is also appropriate for both individuals or small groups.

Advanced Acting (9th - 12th grades) – Experienced performers will enhance performance skills and/or prepare for college auditions. Possible concepts for study include advanced acting theory and practice, development of a full audition repertoire (including song preparation if desired), dialect and accent training, and scene work. While this level is generally designed for individual instruction, small groups with similar performance goals would be possible.

Concepts covered include basic development of the singing voice, improvement of pitch and tone, music reading, and song preparation and performance.
