Travel Distance: Approximately 0.5 miles. Options for getting to and from the hotel include:

Complimentary hotel shuttle. Departs every 20 minutes between 12:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and every 15 minutes between 5:00 PM and 12:00 AM. Travel time is approximately 5 minutes. Pick-up point at the airport is at Ground Transportation, purple lot, section one (1), lanes 20-24. Reservations are not accepted. By taxi – $5. From East Follow Interstate 20 West to Interstate 85 South. From I-85 South take Exit 71 (Riverdale Road). Turn left off of the ramp and turn right at the second light onto Airport Boulevard. Proceed to the stop sign and turn right onto Sullivan Road. The hotel is on the left. From West Follow Interstate 20 East to Interstate 285 South. Proceed on I-285 South to Interstate 85 North. From I-85 North, take Exit 71 (Riverdale Road). Turn right onto Riverdale Road and proceed to the first light. Turn right onto Airport Boulevard. Intermediate $150 $50 Single elimination with progressive Consolation and progressive Last Chance. 9-point matches.

Novice $20 $20 Round-Robin Format. 7-point matches

Robert Wilensky Memorial $500 $100 Single elimination, 13-point matches. Clocks will be used.

Atlanta Cup $250 $50 Single elimination. 9-point matches. Limited to players who have not cashed at the Championship or Masters level & at the discretion of the directors & tournament committee.

Doubles $200 $80 Fees are per team. Single elimination, 7-point matches. Reentries allowed based on availability. Clocks will be used.

Seniors $60 $40 Open to players aged 50 and over. Single elimination. 7-point matches. Play starts Friday afternoon and will continue throughout the weekend. Reentries permitted when available. Will take lower priority to other main events.

Atlanta Spring Classic Warm-up $25 $25 Thursday evening tournament for those arriving early. 7-point matches. 2 matches guaranteed.

After Tournament Jackpot $50 / $20 $50 / $20 Open to players knocked out of all main events. Single elimination. 7-point matches. Championship: $50 entry fee with optional $50 side pool; Intermediate: $20 entry fee with optional $20 side pool.

Mini-Match $20 2-point matches. Play Friday afternoon and throughout the weekend. Reentries permitted and encouraged.

Jackpots $20 / $50 / $100 A variety of 4 or 8 player jackpots will be run on an on-going basis throughout the weekend. ($20, $50 and $100 entry fees depending on demand.)

USBGF $500 added money to Main Events! Entrants must be USBGF members to qualify for the extra prize money, and can join at the tournament.

SCHEDULE

TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS

1. The Atlanta Spring Classic is by invitation only. Any entry may be refused with no reason given.

2. This is an American Backgammon Tour sanctioned event. All players who cash in the Championship and Intermediate divisions will earn ABT points.

3. The directors reserve the right to disallow an entrant from playing below his or her skill level.

4. All matches will be played according to the U.S. Backgammon Tournament Rules & Procedures (January 2009) and, when applicable, the 2013 Backgammon Clock Rules and procedures.

5. Byes and initial pairings will be randomly assigned by public draw.

6. Posted match times will be strictly adhered to. Penalty points will be applied when a player is late for a scheduled start or resumption of a match. Players must sign out with the staff when leaving the playing room for more than ten minutes.

7. Both the Robert Wilensky Memorial and Doubles will be mandatory clocked events and upon player request, the Championship may be clocked as well. Time clocks may be applied to any other match when the director deems it necessary to keep the tournament on schedule.

8. All deposits are fully refundable until 2:00 PM on Friday, May 19, 2017. Only cash will be accepted at the tournament site.

9. The hotel has a smoke-free policy. There is no separate smoking room for play. One 10 min smoking break is allowed outside per match, between games.

10. Cell phones must be turned OFF while matches are in progress.

11. The director may modify the format of any event to maximize the experience of the players.

12. Photography of backgammon positions, video recording of matches, and manual recording of matches by a 3rd party are allowed.
