Once again this year during our Summer Enrichment Program, the

Virginia Dept. of Health will be offering finger stick Cholesterol panels, including Total

Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides and LDL/HDL ratio. They will also offer a

Hemoglobin A1C test, to report average blood sugar levels for a 3 month period. Your child can only have WATER

prior to the fingerstick. Breakfast will be served after testing.

Many diseases often associated with adults are

being diagnosed in children. Heart disease and Diabetes are among

the leading diseases. Having a simple

finger stick blood test can make a difference in the

health of your child.

This year parents NEED to make an appointment to return for your child’s results the day of screening.

We encourage parents to make arrangements to return for the results.

Not only is it important to have the blood work done but is equally important to understand the results. Each parent will be given instruction on the test

results along with ideas on how to improve the health of your child.

This year we are planning some fun adventures for our ENCOURAGE PROGRAM.

Four girls and four boys will be randomly selected to participate in a 4 week, 3 days/ week day camp. We will have activities to include Fun with Fitness, International Jr. Chef

and Into the Wild Wilderness Training.
