Fundraising is on everyone's mind these days, not least charities, NGOs, political parties, universities and others. There are a few different ways to think of this:!1. Donor profiling: Identifying who your potential donors are and what motivates them to donate to you. This is basic and a standard starting point in fundraising. !!2. Donor – Fundraiser role play: Set up role play scenarios and practice conversations between fundraisers and "fake" donors to train the fundraisers in becoming better at answering questions and landing donations. !!3. Grants: CJA writes grant proposals for different projects on all sorts of topics. There are so many European and national funds available out there and lots of cash to apply for. Only in the last three years I have managed to land about €25 mn for different clients.!

4. The Golden Triangle: Getting the relationship between donor type / communications tool / donation tool right is imperative when working in fundraising. Proper research into donor profiles, how to communicate with them and how to motive them to donate by giving them the right donation tool is a good starting point on any successful fundraising strategy. !!5. Messaging: The communications strategy should guide you in messaging that is designed to attract donations through the organisation's different activities and campaigns. In order to do that successfully the messaging needs to consider donations as well. !

Work experience !•  Trainee at the European Commission in Beijing.

•  Head of the Communications and Marketing Department at BirdLife International in Brussels, a Cambridge run global charity, focused on nature conservation. I managed corporate donor relationships, media strategy, EU legislative- and policy communications.

•  At Greenpeace International HQ in Amsterdam I worked as Global Communications Manager in sustainable agriculture, where I mainly focused on campaign communication strategies and media outreach.

•  It was part of my job as Communications Adviser at the European Metalworkers’ Federation in Brussels to work the Brussels media network and I turned the EMF into a one-stop-shop for global media in the metal industry, ensuring coverage that moved the organisation closer towards its goals.

•  Election Strategist and Head of Communications at local Swedish Social Democrat Party during the 2014 national and EU elections.
