EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL VOLUNTEERS
The following are difficult areas to measure but are important for all volunteers to practice at all times.
1. Confidentiality: Protects the confidentiality of patients, families and donors at all times
2. Dress Code: Consistently displays appropriate dress code (ID badge, closed-toe shoes in CareCenters)
3. Infection Control: Exhibits good hand hygiene—regardless of assignment—washing hands before and after

4. Participation: Performs assignments effectively; works well with others
5. Communication & Teamwork: Displays professional behavior (informs
Volunteer Services of special needs from patients/families/staff, asks questions when
in doubt, notifies staff when unable to volunteer, responds to Volunteer Services’

6. Flexibility: Remains calm and demonstrates flexibility in difficult situations
7. Dependability: Reports for assignments when scheduled and on time
8. Documentation: Consistently & promptly records service hours, visit notes
9. Continuing Education: Attends one (1) education session per year
10. Tuberculosis Test: Maintains current Tuberculosis test on file
