Spend part of your summer improving your acting ability by learning how to perform the works of William Shakespeare. Shakespeare continues to be the most-performed playwright in history, and being able to act his plays will help you with college admissions, ace your auditions, improve your chances on getting into theatre festivals, and generally improve your acting skills while having fun doing it.

This fun workshop will teach you about Shakespearean verse and staging, as well as improving your voice and movement. Every day will include vocal training and work with stage action. Through brief lessons you will learn about the theatre and society of Shakespeare’s era. Most of the time will be spent on acting scenes from Shakespeare’s plays and working on monologues.

You will have the opportunity to learn stage combat, music and dance from the Elizabethan era, costumes and makeup, and other fun activities. By the end of our time together, you will notice a marked improvement in your acting, your audition skills, and your ability to work in an ensemble.

No previous Shakespeare experience is required, but a spirit of adventure is.
