Don’t forget to make sure your name is included
on our birthday list posted in the clubhouse
hallway.
July was a busy month here at Fountain East.
The palm tree trimming as been completed, and the
dead pine tree has been removed. We put up the new
rope lights on the palm trees from the gate to the
clubhouse and doubled the number of lights on each
tree. The street sweepers were here mid-July, and
we are still working on getting the grass green until
we figure out what we can do (and afford) with that
area.
We found the source of the leaks in the pool and
had them repaired. I am told the water has been
wonderful.
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying
themselves at their summer homes. Im looking
forward to seeing you all again soon. Thank You.

We need someone to take over being in charge of the distribution of the Bubbles during “the season.”
Please contact Kenny or Jan Wilhite if you are willing to take on this responsibility. Your job would be to
place the inserts in the printed Bubbles (November through April) then give them to the individuals who do
the street delivery.
Contact Kenny or Jan Wilhite for more information. It is just a couple months before we need to have
someone step up and say...
Yes, I can....Yes, I will!

SUMMER RESIDENTS - Just a reminder from the Safety Patrol that we've begun the random 11pm-1am,
1am to 3am, and 3am-5am patrol shifts. If you're a night owl, don't be surprised when you see the cart out
and about. We could REALLY use a few more residents to help cover the shifts, so if you're willing, please
call Don Stebbins, 480-252-8937, to volunteer.
Just one or two shifts a month would really help, as only nine people are covering all of the shifts for the
next 90 days. The regular 8-10pm shift can use more help, as well.
Remember to aware so that you or your neighbors don’t get stung by overlooking a
suspicious person or activity in the park!

An All-American Fourth of July barbecue was attended by sixty plus Fountain Eastresidents and guests. The event, ably chaired by Judy Jacobs with Matt Jacobs and EricClark as Masters of the Grill, saw everyone chowing down on juicy burgers and deluxe hotdogs with all the fixings, potato salad and chips. Ice cream sundaes topped off the menu.
In addition to table prizes and a lovely holiday wreath as the door prize, the pièce derésistance was the White Elephant event (be sure to ask Judy what her white elephant wasnext time you see her).
Judy was assisted by several residents, including Joanne Rebilas, Alice Spearman, Janand Ken Wilhite, Bob and Lani Clark, Kathy Kasparek, Ina Quenga, Savannah Clark,Bertha Cabana, Page Wilson, and Betty Copas. Carole Burrows was the White Elephant“trainer.”
Calling all crafters. Now is the time to start getting ready for the Christmas Craft Fair (December 3). I am in the process of putting together applications for all serious crafters. We will NOT have yard saleitems or junk entered in the fair this year. We will also not be having patio sales at this time as too manycrafters cannot do both. If you would like to do a combination craft/patio sale day, perhaps somethingcan be organized for spring.
During the Craft Fair, the Fountain East Café is a big money-maker involving a dedicated group ofworkers. However, it may be that we have lost our kitchen chairman so we are looking for someone totake over and be in charge of our café.
Also, as President of the Fountain East Ladies’ Association, I am trying to round up any and all keys tothe cabinets or cupboards storing items used by our ladies’ association. Once we have all the keys, wewill use a log to keep track of them. With luck, we will know who has which keys plus this will cut downon the extra expense of having to change locks.
If there are any questions or you want an application, please email me, Lynn Carrell, [email protected] or call my cell phone at 706-294-0911.

Ah, bonjour mes amis de
Fountain East!
Notre petit déjeuner était
merveilleux grâce à
Carolyn Taylor
Merci, merci, merci!
The final 5th Saturday breakfast was held on July 30 with 32 gathering to enjoy the stuffed French
toast(either with provolone cheese and ham or with cream cheese and blueberries), sausage, fruit salad
and juice. Carolyn was assisted by a fabulous crew consisting of Virginia Andrews, Patty Maxson, Kathy
Kasparek, Carole Burrows, Page Wilson, Karen Taylor, Brenda Brooks and Dick Baird. Without residents like
these, there would be none of the exceptional events and meals we all enjoy.
