DETAILED PROGRAMME

2016 FIVS Global Trade Policy Forum & Conference - The Global Operating Environment, Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow Detailed Programme (Version as of 2016 04 14)
“The Global Operating Environment
Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow”
18-20 April 2016 Brussels, Belgium
What will the trading landscape look like for the alcohol beverage trade over the next five years? The 2016 FIVS Global Trade Policy Forum & Conference will address this question within the context of FIVS’ areas of key strategic focus:
TRADE FACILITATION SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY CONSUMER ORIENTATION
Forum (FIVS Members Only): On the Monday, there will be focused sessions on each of these subject areas, along with a meeting of our Scientific and Technical Committee. Our Working Group Chairs will lead discussions on long-term challenges and opportunities as well as goals and objectives for the near term. There will be a General Assembly at the end of the day. Conference: The FIVS Conference will take place on the Tuesday and Wednesday. The Working Group Chairs will share the outcomes from the Monday meetings at the beginning of each of the four main sessions. Moderators will encourage interaction with this information, with both a panel of expert commentators and conference participants. The activities of engaged international organisations and governments and their potential implications on pressing topics will be considered in each session. There will be a reception and a gala dinner during the course of the conference.
In October of 2005, Chris Savage of E. & J. Gallo Winery delivered a 20 minute presentation on a new concept never before seen at a FIVS meeting. This notion, called “sustainability,” morphed from a short presentation to become the entire theme of the 2012 FIVS Global Trade Policy Conference, a major emphasis in our strategic plan and the subject area for one of our four new Working Groups.
Where do we come from, what are we and where are we going?
