The closest airport to Dana Point is the John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, CA. Other airports within 100 miles of the Monarch Beach Resort include:

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) Long Beach Airport (LGB) San Diego International Airport (SAN)Palm Springs International Airport (PSP)

What to Pack October is beautiful in Dana Point. Temperatures average in the high 70’s during the day and high 50’s at night – perfect for the beach, for golf, and to enjoy the charming town of Dana Point. Keep in mind the attire suggestions included on page 5 for Conference events, and bring clothing appropriate for the leisure events that you have selected. Also remember to pack for the weather – that means lightweight clothing, sandals and walking shoes, swimwear, sunglasses, sunblock, suntan lotion, aloe or other sunburn relief (just in case), a beach bag and towel, light sweater or jacket for the evening, toiletries and medicines, and of course, a camera to capture the spectacular views of Dana Point Harbor.

TSA Security Guidelines You may bring one small bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes through the airline security checkpoint. These are limited to 3.4 ounces or less per container. Consolidating these containers into a small bag separate from your carry-on baggage enables TSA

officers to screen them quickly.

Be prepared. Each time a TSA officer stops to physically screen a carry-on bag, it slows down the line. Practicing the 3-1-1 rule, below, will help you move through Security move quickly. Liquids, gels, aerosols, creams and pastes must be 3.4 ounces (100ml) or less per container; must be in 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. The bag limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring.

Medications, baby formula/food and breast milk are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces, and they don’t have to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint. TSA officers may need to open them for additional screening.

If in doubt, put your liquids, gels, aerosols, creams and pastes in checked baggage. You will save time in Security and minimize the items you need to manage while on your flight.

TRANSPORTATION TIPS

Page 5: 2016 ACON Welcome Book

FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT ATTEND:Those who qualify but choose not to attend may not send substitutes in their place. No financial or other consideration will be offered for those who do not attend.

5

Your carryon should include only the necessities– medicines, eye glasses, phone, etc.

Making Your Flight More Enjoyable Body scans, picture IDs and other security measures may seem like an inconvenience, but they are for your safety. Just remember the 4B’s of traveling: Be cooperative, Be polite, Be patient, and Be on your way.

Hotel Dress CodeThe recommended attire for the National Auto Care Agent Conference at the Monarch Beach Resort is resort casual – defined as smart clothing for men and ladies. Depending on the weather, this may include slacks or shorts and collared shirts for men and slacks, shorts or casual dresses for women.

Please see restaurant listings on page 17–21 for details on dress codes for those facilities.

While the Monarch Beach Resort allows some latitude in this definition, it is recommended that apparel such as sleeveless t-shirts, bare midriffs, short shorts and cutoffs be limited to actual beach wear.

Daily Dress CodeExpect the weather at the Monarch Beach Resort to be warm and humid, so consider this as you plan your attire. Some leisure time activities may also have specific apparel requirements; please note apparel recommendations for various activities detailed on pages 8 to 13.
