At Wichita State, it’s all within reach.

college,college,just how you pictured it.

Combining tradition and innovation with the

limitless resources of its location, Wichita State

offers much more than you ever could ever find

in a traditional college town.

Thanks to our location in Kansas’ largest city, WSU students

take learning out of the classroom and into the real world—

gaining practical experience, building a resume, making

connections and ultimately getting a jumpstart on a career.

We have results to back it up, too. The Kansas Board

of Regents indicates WSU graduates are more likely

to be employed in Kansas after graduation and earn more

than graduates from other traditional Kansas universities.

WSU has student groups in everything from academic majors and politics to Greek life and cultural associations (you can also form your own).

We’re the state’s most diverse college campus — more than 30 percent of our students hail from a race/ethnic minority or international background.

The Rhatigan Student Center (RSC) is home to billiards, bowling, a bookstore and restaurants ranging from Chick-Fil-A to Pizza Hut – not to mention, plenty of comfy couches to crash on between classes.

Each semester is packed with time-honored traditions like Hippodrome, Shocktoberfest, Convocation and Welcomefest—annual events full of competitions and fellow Shockers.

Get your game on with WSU’s highly active, semester-packed intramurals and club sporting events in everything from wrestling to softball.

Volunteering through WSU is easy. Groups like the WuCrew bring like-minded Shockers together for worthy causes throughout the year.

The Wichita area is dotted with dozens of parks and places to enjoy the outdoors.

With concerts from Taylor Swift and Lil Wayne to the Tallgrass Film Festival, the variety of area events you’ll find in Wichita is virtually limitless.

On and off campus, Shockers have access to all the

arts, entertainment and traditional college

fun they could want. We’re talking more than

350 annual on-campus events, action-packed

athletics, people from all over the globe and

a city teeming with galleries, stages, shopping,

and eats—just take your pick and enjoy.
