It has been my pleasure this quarter to witness the success of many families and youth as well as our partners in child- serving agencies. I also had the opportunity to spend me in Washington, D.C., with the leadership of the country’s mental health services and many partners across the na on. I learned so much from the other states about the eff orts across the country.

“I also learned how lucky we are here in Tennessee to have such a strong

family organization.”

It refreshed that deep apprecia on we have at TVC for the supporters and stakeholders of this organiza on. I invite you to be a part of the advocacy for children and their families.

Sincerely,

Our Children, Our FutureTVC, through its leadership, has established itself as a strong and

non-par san voice for the rights of children’s mental health.

Ready, Set, UNITE! Walk for Child Abuse PreventionK-Town Youth Empowerment Network partnered with Helen Ross McNabb Center on April 13, 2015 and par cipated in a walk to raise awareness for child abuse preven on. They arrived wearing royal blue and took a walk around Market Square in Knoxville to symbolize their community commitment to protec ng the children of East Tennessee. Mona Blanton-Ki s, Vice President of Clinical Services at Helen Ross McNabb Center, kicked off the event with opening remarks, which was followed by an inspiring story from a survivor of child abuse.

“Ensuring children have the opportunity to grow up in a safe, healthy environment is everyone’s responsibility. The pinwheel is a reminder that we all play a role in the future of our children. Children deserve to grow and the pinwheel gardens planted across the state of Tennessee this April show our commitment to families in the communi es where we work and live every day.” - Kristen Rector, Execu ve Director of Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee

up feeling safe, nurtured, and loved,

Cer fi ed Family Support Specialists Cindy Po s and Vicki Jones represented TVC at the “Pinwheels for Preven on Kick-Off Event”

by providing a “Feelings Wheel” game and giving prizes to children who a ended that day. Later that week, other TVC staff members
