EVENT OVERVIEW:

The world’s largest surfing demo, Camp Shred, was back at the San Elijo Campground in Cardiff, California for its second year in a row. As always, the event was free and open to the public,

allowing over 4,000 consumers to come out and demo the latest in surfboard shapes, designs, and products. The two-day event

also included live music, food trucks, and a beer garden.

Surfing Magazine and Surf Ride distributed Camp Shred posters and flyers in Dana Point, San Clemente, and North County San Diego. In the month leading up to the event, banners with detailed Camp Shred information were placed at the San Elijo Campground and throughout the Cardiff area.

NEARLY 4,000 ATTEND CAMP SHRED AND RAISE MONEY FOR CALIFORNIA STATE PARKS AND KEEP A BREAST FOUNDATION

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., March 18, 2014 – Camp Shred went off at Cardiff’s San Elijo Campground over the weekend, and a great time was had by all. For two straight days, hundreds of surfboards, wetsuits, accessories and skateboards were available for the nearly 4,000 attendees to demo for free. Fun waves graced the Cardiff reefs and a lively bustle kept things interesting on land with sunny skies and 70-plus degree weather. Topping it all off, event hosts Surfing Magazine and Surf Ride were able to hand off checks to benefit California State Parks and the Keep A Breast Foundation. Subaru offered test drives of three new vehicles and for each test drive, provided a donation to California State Parks. Surfing Magazine sold nearly 200 goody bags filled with fun sponsor swag including a limited edition New Era hat, also benefitting California State Parks. The Sierra Nevada beer garden was the life of the party with three of their most popular beers and proceeds donated to the Keep A Breast Foundation. Live acts Austin Burns, Loose Snakes and Sister Juanita and 94.9 FM laid the soundscape for the weekend while C2O Pure Coconut Water hydrated and Banzai Bowls nourished the crowd. SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Feb. 27, 2014 – SURFING Magazine and Surf Ride have teamed up to bring Camp Shred, the world’s largest surf demo, back to San Elijo Campground in Cardiff By the Sea, Calif., March 15-16, 2014. The event, now in its second year, unites the best surf brands and thousands of their loyal consumers for a fun weekend of camping, surfing and demoing the latest greatest gear, all while giving back to California State Parks.
