Maritime VSAT industry value chain 2013

The VSAT market is more fragmented than the MSS market with some major operators like Intelsat and SES. Virtual Network Operators (VNO) purchase capacity from different operators in order to have a capacity pool with coverage according to the requirements of VSAT service providers. VNO resells capacity to satellite service providers as an intermediate between satellite operators and service providers.

Around 50 to 60 service providers in the maritimeVSAT market .

Equipment manufacturers are split into antennaproviders (such as SeaTel, Orbit, and C2Sat) andcommunication modem providers (such as iDirect,ViaSat, Comtech, and HNS).

Service Providers

Resellers

End users

The role of resellers is less important in the maritime VSAT market than in the maritime MSS market, as the majority of MSS service providers sell services directly to the end users.
