PROVING...
That all children can achieve at the highest levels.
At KIPP, we believe that all children should have access to a quality education so that they have the opportunity to lead choice-filled lives. Since 2003, KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools has been proving that all students will learn and succeed if provided with the right opportunities and supports.

KIPP (the Knowledge is Power Program) exists to change the life trajectories of children inAtlanta’s underserved neighbor-hoods, and in turn, to transform the communities themselves. We are improving both academicopportunities and life outcomes byoffering a high quality, tuition-free, college preparatory education to students living in communities that we believe need us the most.

95Academic achievement is the verycornerstone of KIPP’s mission. Our students spend 40 percent more time in the classroom than their tradition-al public school peers and engage in a rigorous academic curriculum and character development program. To ensure that all students are ready for college, we implement a college-preparatory curriculum aligned to Common Core Georgia Performance Standards.
Despite arriving at KIPP an average of two grade levels behind their peers in more affluent communities, our scholars consistently outperform the state and district averages on
standardized tests. Additionally, the Georgia Department of Education recognized KIPP STRIVE Academy, KIPP South Fulton Academy, and KIPP Vision Academy as 2014 Reward Schools for their academic achieve-
ment and progress during the 2013-14 school year.
the statewide average of 67 percent. Our students are proving that with hard work and strong support it is possible to close the opportunity gap.

Even more important than test scores, though, are our scholars’ outcomes. Last year, 95 percent of our alumni graduated from high school, compared to

College graduation for all alumni is KIPP’s ultimate goal. As such, we make a unique promise to track and support through college every student who completes eighth grade at a KIPP school.Nationally, fewer than one in ten students from low-income fam-ilies graduate from college with a four-year degree. The 2014-15 school year will beparticularly exciting for KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools as we celebrate two milestones: our founding fifth graders from KIPP WAYS Academy and KIPP SouthFulton Academy will graduate fromcollege, and KIPP Atlanta Collegiate’s
founding class will graduate from high school. As a result, KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools will, for the first time, send dozens of alumni off to colleges across the country with the advantage of a KIPP 9th- through 12th-grade education.

KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools’ two flagship middle schools opened in 2003 and quickly built reputations for excellence and significant wait-lists. Due to this success and the cleardemand for the KIPP model, in 2009 we embarked upon an aggressive growth plan to open six schools in six years and expand from a middle school model to a full K-12 pipeline.
The 2013-14 school year was bookended by the open-ing of the final two schools in our growth plan, as KIPPVision Primary welcomed its inaugural Kindergarten class in July 2013 and KIPP WAYS Primary opened its doors in July 2014. At this milestone, KIPPMetro Atlanta Schools has grown into a network of eight schools—three elementary schools, fourmiddle schools, and one high school—serving more than 2,500 students. Our elementary schools willcontinue to expand by one gradelevel per year until 2018, at which point we will provide a full Kindergar-ten through 12th-grade educational experience, serving 3,300 students.
In October 2013, KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools was granted the first charter cluster in the state of Georgia, allow-ing our region to consolidate both funding and the charter renewal pro-cess, thereby increasing operating efficiency. The cluster charter alsoallowed for the creation of a K-12 feed-er pattern among our seven schools located within Atlanta Public Schools.
This means that our lotteryprocess can preference students living in the highest-need zip codes, and that our elementary school students can seamlessly transition into our middle schools and, eventually, our high school.
Metro Atlanta Schools has never compromised our high standards of quality for our schools and our scholars. In fact, we continue to use what we have learned thus far toimprove our programs and results. We are deeply grateful to all thepartners who have made this growth in both service and excellence pos-sible, and we look forward to work-ing together to continue to prove what is possible in public education.

2014 HIGH SCHOOL EOCT RESULTS KIPP Atlanta Collegiate students outperformed their peers on the 9th Grade Literature, Biology andAmerican Literature End of Course Tests (EOCT). Coordinate Algebra and Analytic Geometry are new tests that have changed significantly from previous EOCT assessments. Scores on these tests have droppedstatewide as the tests have been revised to reflect the increased rigor of the Common Core. We areworking hard to make sure that both our instruction and students meet the demands of this new curriculum.
2014 EIGHTH GRADE CRCT RESULTS Our eighth graders outperformed their peers on Georgia’s Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT).
